@Mastodon is changing course when it comes to how people join the platform. In late 2022, the team decided to send sign-ups directly to their server in order to make onboarding more straightforward. But that didn't align with the promise of decentralization. Here, Community Director @haubles explains the new approach to server recommendation, along with some other ways Mastodon is helping build community.

After about twelve hours, the same post had received more than 300 shares and likes on Mastodon, while it had only been shared three times and liked four times on BlueSky.
I'm no social media expert, but it's amazing how reluctant people are to use Mastodon because of its lack of reach and interaction.
If we bring more people here, the Fediverse could become the de facto public square.

AFTER THAT SCENARIO, EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO FAST.. Eduard has a motorcycle & decided 2 go in the nearest vet which is idk how or what but I was just sobbing while Jury is wrapped in Blankets, Im partially drenched of the rain & just let fate decides. Later on I found out that Freya called the nearest ER Clinic that had a Vet ready that time which is still very early.. Eduard took us there driving the right speed 2 keep us safe while the time is very crucial. 💔

For once, in an article looking at alternatives to Big Tech the Guardian has acknowledge (and indeed given a half a paragraph to) Mastodon....
Its not the greatest write up but might encourage some more people to join us...

Does anyone else have issues doing quote posts with @apps ?
It always worked, but it's not working anymore.
I already deleted and reinstalled Fedilab.
I tried the official Mastodon app, and there it worked, so it's not a problem with my account.
Asking first here before filling out the bug report tomorrow.
