Archaeological finds on the island of Santorini reveal that the Minoans, one of Europe’s earliest advanced civilizations, had developed portable cooking devices more than 3600 years ago. These stone supports, discovered in Akrotiri and now housed in the Museum of Prehistoric Thera, were designed specifically for grilling skewers of meat.
