Macro black and white photograph of drops of water falling between tree roots, sparkling in the sunlight.

With trees growing on the side of a hill, there is often a space created just under their base on the lower side, where their roots are showing and hanging in the air, especially in Spring with erosion and the low vegetation not grown yet. The water coming down the hills from the melting snow finds its way to these spaces, and follows the roots to fall magically like rain in the sun. It's the merry sound it makes that drew me there, with my rain boots filled with snow and water falling on my head, crouched uncomfortably once again under a tree.
