He says the word "trust" a whole bunch of times yet intends to turn an otherwise nice web browser into a slop-slinging platform. I don't expect this will work out very well for anyone.

Creativity is like a muscle. If you want to become more creative, you have to exercise it.

When I was in art school (years ago), we exercised every day to become more creative. Artists have to train to get there too. It's not magic or "talent," it's hard work.

When you use AI to give you "inspiration," you are doing the opposite of that. You are atrophying your creativity muscle.

If you want to become a creator, and become more creative, you should stop using AI entirely. Instead, start training your own genuine creativity. Otherwise, it will eventually dry off completely.

I despise how security updates are
bundled with feature updates.

Now we have to choose between risking getting malware from random criminal gangs when refusing to update, or getting embedded malware from the tech company itself that comes with their update.

And honestly at this point, I'm not sure which is worse.

We recently came across an amazing project called uBlockOrigin & uBlacklist Huge AI Blocklist.

As they describe it, it's:

A huge blocklist of manually curated sites (1000+) that contain AI generated content, for the purposes of cleaning image search engines (Google Search, DuckDuckGo, and Bing) with uBlock Origin or uBlacklist.

There's something really lovely at the top of the uBlock Origin filter list, just under the description, that brought us a small bit of very-much-needed joy, and we wanted to share it here with others 🫶

I've been looking for a clean, #NoAI Markdown editor to replace Logseq. Logseq is great but has a lot of bloat that I don't need for simple writing (like my scripts). I tried MarkText and I enjoy it, but I just learned that it hasn't been updated in over a year with little to no activity on their github, which is a concern for security and longevity.

What are you all using for distraction free writing, especially for markdown?

I'm so tired. People, I am not interested in reading *blogs* generated with claude, gemini or chatgpt. No, not even ones proofread by AI. Do it yourself. I do not wish to even accidentally click on "one-shotted" dummy projects. Don't show me your AI-generated analysis of anything. Above all, I do not wish to see images/artwork someone prompt created.

I value real content, with all its good and bad quirks, from actual human beings.

Somebody please normalize auto-tagging of AI generated content across all formats - text, images and code so I can blanket ban them from my personal computer.

This is a plead for help I never thought I'll have to make.

Más allá de lo ético o no de utilizar LLMs (y no, no lo son), el problema es de fondo, de una forma de producir y consumir que exigen una velocidad cada vez más maquínica.

La justificación esta de "no tengo tiempo para revisarlo entonces paso mis escritos por la IA", o en general toda la dinámica laboral de exigir más y más rapidez en hacer tareas, so pretexto de que " la IA lo hace en minutos", dan prueba de ello.

Automatizar y deslocalizar el aprender y nuestras capacidades cognitivas, la aceleración que se cierne en cada rincón de nuestra existencia por la presencia de estas tecnologías, esta necesidad de ir rápidos sin saber por qué, hacen más que nunca necesarios discursos que cuestionen esta vida atada al crecimiento, al espectáculo, al trabajo, a la propiedad privada.
