On a beautiful road bike ride this morning.

Monterey (CA) and Pacific Grove on the peninsula across the Monterey Bay looking south east from New Brighton State Beach.

Imagine how much better the world would be if politicians, corporate executives, and pretty much everyone got out on a day like this for a bike ride, a run, a dog walk, or simply a leisurely stroll in the morning sunshine.

There are mountains of yellow in the frame, late-October fall trees surrounding us, remnants of the Great Carolinian Forest, and the rail bed itself lined with Halloween orange and browns. The yellow leaves seem to hold on longest. There's a V-shaped wedge of mottled blue sky in the background, summer's last goodbye wave.
