I haven't been out shooting recently (too much going on) but yesterday I drove 4 blocks up our hill to snap a picture of some townhouses that are getting new siding.

I've always been fascinated by these townhomes. Built in 1978, each has approximately 2000 square feet inside (three bedrooms, two and a half baths), with six stories in the rear but just a single story facing the street up top (where the garage is). Actually, the lower three stories of the townhomes, in the rear, are purely foundation, not living space. Because slopes.

Unsurprisingly, the townhouses have killer views of the bay and all of downtown San Francisco. Yes, $1.5M in this part of town can get you a view... but not necessarily a yard you can sit in and have a picnic or a pitcher full of martinis.

Anyway, I think the scaffolding around the building is kind of cool. So I took a picture.

#photography #NewTopographics
