《萨满教：古老的入迷术》此次被“内蒙古民族文化通鉴”选中，即将首次翻译成汉文。与本书题材类似的《金枝》很久以前就成为中国人类学、民族学、宗教学的必读书目，本书的翻译也必将填补业内的空白，可以将此书丰富多彩的萨满世界推给更多中国读者。本书稿由内蒙古大学外国语学院的段满福教授翻译，段教授在教学的同时，译著颇多，曾翻译出版《地球上的庄园：土著人如何塑造澳大利亚》《小王子》《后一课》等图书。该书共分14章。总体上看，该书结构有些类似西方音乐中的奏鸣曲式，可分为三大部分：呈示部， 即开头八章，为全书的基础；展开部, 第9章至第12章, 充分发挥开头八章所呈示的各主题中所具有的特征；再现部，即第13、14章，这后的两章基本上复现呈示部，再次回到对全局性特征的论述。

This founding work of the history of religions, first published in English in 1954, secured the North American reputation of the Romanian emigre-scholar Mircea Eliade (1907-1986).
