“I met Aaron in Madeira around 10 years ago, and I was blown away by his set, when I was going to tour the US for the first time, Forest, my US my booking agent asked me if I wanted to tour with someone from his roster and I suggested Mr Dilloway, the first show we played together was in Toronto, he started with a very groovy loop, some kind of soul extract that felt just right. With that, he levelled the dynamics and the atmosphere of the room, moving back and forth from the stage to the audience to double check if everything was sounding right. I have never seen such an elegant, disturbing and powerful show at the same time, it was a wild combination. We played a couple more shows together and on my journey throughout the states I was never in a place where his name didn’t pop up with a positive comment of admiration. We became extremely close and utopian. We started this record during a two week visit of mine in NYC, we crossed... our signals, sometimes his affecting mine, or the other way around, we just wanted to make a fun, weird and inevitably emotive record that somehow captured so many things we love about music, to put oneself in character and go with the flow.”

“Lucrecia and I met briefly 10 years ago while performing at a festival together. We traded some releases and I was very excited by what I heard. Her records stuck out to me over the years as something very special. I was a fan. We met again recently while performing on a bill together in Toronto, and while watching her perform, I was mesmerized by her selections of sounds, as well as her movements and control of the mixing board. I felt like we worked similarly. We struck up a very close friendship and what followed was a year of intense discussions about art, music, performance and recording. Immediately we began working on music together and her expertise in mixing and her highly trained ears and overall drive were very inspirational. This album was recorded in 3 different locations, Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, NY where Lu was doing a residency, sessions at Lu’s home in Berlin, Germany and finally at my home in Oberlin, OH. It was one of the most inspirational periods of my life and helped me overcome some intense musical and psychological obstacles. I learned so much by making this record.”

'Another Life' is the debut album from Amnesia Scanner, the Berlin-based music duo, performing arts group, experience design studio and production house, created by Finnish-born Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala.
Founded in 2014, Amnesia Scanner's approach is informed by a unique perspective on technology and the way it mediates contemporary experience. System vulnerabilities, information overload and sensory excess inform their work, which has found a home in both clubs and galleries.
Building on their mixtape 'AS Live [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]' (2014), Amnesia Scanner’s critically acclaimed audio play 'Angels Rig Hook' (2015) laced a potpourri of dancefloor tactics with a machinic narrator. Their dual EPs for Young
Turks, 'AS' and 'AS Truth' (2016), distilled this immersive environment into an abrasive collection of cryptorave tools. The most striking detail of ‘Another Life' is Amnesia Scanner's use of both human and inhuman voices. The latter is provided by the latest addition to the production unit, a disembodied voice called Oracle, which represents the sentience that has emerged from Amnesia Scanner.
Oracle's vocal performance ranges from exuberant mania to anxious dread and beyond. Coupled with the pop song structures that Amnesia Scanner employs for the first time, the avant-EDM productions
of ‘Another Life’ evocatively explore a schizophrenic present marked by narratives of a slow apocalypse or salvation via technology. Indeed, the lullaby of 'AS Another Life' swings between trill hope and casual
threat, lending a precarious gait to the song's staggering rhythm. The album's first single, 'AS Chaos', is its most powerfully direct track, with Pan Daijing’s English and Mandarin vocals taking over for Oracle. At its peak intensity, as in ‘AS Faceless’, Amnesia Scanner's doombahton overheats into nu-metal-gabba.
Amnesia Scanner has presented work at art institutions such as ICA London, HKW Berlin, and the Serpentine Gallery Marathon in London. They collaborate with PWR Studio for their design and visual direction. The AS live experience is co-created with Stockholm-based Canadian designer Vincent De Belleval. When unplugged from the Amnesia Scanner stream, Haimala works as a composer and producer with a wide range of musical and visual artists, and Kalliala co-directs the think tank Nemesis.
The album is mastered by Jeremy Cox, featuring photography by Satoshi Fujiwara, and visual direction from PWR Studio.

On his second album inspired by journeys in the Arctic wilderness, Finnish electronic musician Sasu Ripatti makes even the most hostile environment feel homey.

On his adventurous first new album in 5 years, Vladislay Delay renders an extreme ecology of electronic sound inspired by time spent above the arctic circle, surrounded by tundra and the raw force of nature and visually given life by Ripatti's wife, Antye Greie-Ripatti, aka AGF.
Although it features no location recordings, ’Rakka’ clearly imparts its theme thru a riveting palette of weathered textures, unyielding rhythms and the kind of reverberating, widescreen sound design that’s defined his catalogue of cult, contemporary music since the late ‘90s. While Vladislav been notably absent from release schedules in recent years - aside from working on the soundtrack to ‘The Revenant’ (2015) recording with Sly & Robbie (more of that to come) in 2018 - this new album is surely a bracing reminder of his knack for creating utterly immersive environments at the poles of ambient, dub, and noise.
Inspired by the struggle to survive in unforgiving conditions, the music patently resembles a number of styles associated with music from northerly latitudes. Elemental traces of Scandinavian black metal, Pan Sonic or Deathprod-like power electronics and Thomas Köner-esque ambient isolationism are all detectable in the album’s brutal panoramas, and evidently speak to a shared conception of the extreme arctic’s uncontrolled and uncorrupted wilds, and their frighteningly magnetic sort of push/pull on the senses.
Titled in Vladislav’s typically alliterative style, the tracks cascade in aggressive iterations of gravel-swilled rhythm and tonal attrition. The barely-harnessed might of opener, ‘Rakka’ triggers a chain reaction on events that follows into a sort of blast-beaten ambience in ‘Raajat’, and what sounds like throttled blvck metvl vocals meshed with flashcore in ‘Rakkine’, whilst ‘Rampa’ hammers home a martial noise techno tattoo, and the final couplet take this sound to its logical end-of-earth degrees with breathtaking form.
‘Rakka’ is certain to both reaffirm and upend what listeners know and love about Vladislav Delay, while firmly galvanising his sound for an unsure future.

A fragmented and anachronistic improvisation where the sounds transform one another and go into unexpected directions, and territories serve as the base of this album. A rhizomatic meeting between different artists, different styles, and different subjectivities was captured here but will never exist in the same form ever again.
However, the author is dead and the duty is passed to the listener, as improvisation is forever open-ended. “Once in a lifetime” as the title of the album says.

「想像將足立正生的《略稱 - 連續射殺魔》的運鏡，套用在一幅山水畫上，那這畫面的配樂，就是這張《萬火歸一》。
『即興噪音sax武士一刀流』，初見子衡的個人簡介上如此寫道。一個中國即興音樂中對多數有關注的人還算是陌生的名稱，王子衡於去年與丁晨晨、若潭來台演出；比起我曾看過管樂器即興樂手現場，如朱文博的細膩雅緻、或者李增輝的黑暗瘋狂氣息，王子衡的演出，以及這張專輯，都有種竹林論劍的俠氣。
《萬火歸一》整張專輯皆在北京三元橋地下通道錄音，也由於地下通道的空間結構，這張專輯比較起多數的即興音樂作品，更像是一張氛圍音樂作品；由於這張在技法呈現上多是以長音為主，就好像王子衡要把空間吹破一般，那狹長的通道立刻就在腦海現形。
王子衡本人不將自己定義為一位自由爵士樂手，而是噪音、即興的樂手。之前看他在北京荒音祭幾段現場的影片，似乎在器樂與演出形式上有許多變化；可以預見這種在非正式演出場合的錄音、錄影，會隨著串流技術發展而一應而起，但也就是這樣，才能打破多數人對於即興音樂形式主義想像的藩籬。」

「這張《萬火歸一》，再結合他上一張錄音的名字《活火山》，和他的敏感，恣肆的演奏風格，似乎正在構成一派地火湧動的噪音景象。
但《萬火歸一》中並沒有集中噴發的塊狀能量，A面的《力之主-破》長達十九分鐘，開篇是恍惚的音效或者采樣，在你正努力探查這些的源頭時，顫抖的薩克斯出現，刺破了模糊的低頻，在新環境裏蔓延開來。一些非標準音，一些驟停後爆發的混沌人聲，一些不明來路的自然混響，最後融入了沉郁的聲音洪流，間或又浮現出短小但動人的旋律或者旋律感。翻面之後的三曲，有虛無中來去的噪音，也有晦明變化中出現的寧靜，有空間有張力，關乎環境也關乎精神。
唱片封套上是王子衡現場演奏的身影，這大約來自於他所發起的系列環境即興演出荒音祭的某次紀錄，但更像是一種翻轉的鏡像，模糊，交融，天我和一。」

Wang Ziheng 王子衡
Born in Dagang oilfield and now lives in Beijing, Wang Ziheng is one active free improve/noise/psychedelic musicians in the new generation of Beijing's underground music scene. He is also the initiator of non-livehouse series concert “荒音祭”.
Deeply influenced by Kaoru Abe and John Coltrane, his commonly used instruments are tenor saxophone, human voice and noise. His solo performance is bold and full of passion. The profound understanding to avant-garde jazz and free improvisation is beyond his peers, empowering him with more possibilities.
Exchanging energy in the tranquil and sudden outbursts of the mad sound force field. His performance of improved noise style reminds people of Dionysus, full of euphoria and mean while sentimental. With great originality and creativity, his style is not restricted within in free improve or noise, even drone or rock could be adopted by him and enriched his music. Delusion through saxophone to a place where the language can't reach it.
In 2008, founded psychedelic noise band "LSDER" as lead singer / sax player.
In October 2014, live soundtrack performance with Li Jianhong, Wei Wei, Li Qing for artist Cheng Ran in Palais de Tokyo, Paris.
In 2015, joined Li Jianhong's "Vagus Nerve" as sax player, and founded "Save the Death", an unlimited-member noise project.
In April 2017, toured in Taiwan with 若潭 ruò tán, Ding Chenchen, collaborated with 破地獄 Scattered Purgatory.
In the same year, started the series of “荒音祭 PRIMORDIAL NOTE” noise festival / concert.
In November 2017, organized and participated in "山火集" concert in Beijing with 若潭 ruò tán, 破地獄 Scattered Purgatory, IZ and Li Jianhong. And the first demo "活火山 Active Volcano" was released by WV Sorcerer Productions.
