The Backstreet Boys‘ 25th-anniversary celebrations for signature album Millennium are about to be larger than life, with the band announcing a revamped version of the LP along with three more Sphere residency dates Friday (Feb. 14).
As revealed Valentine’s Day morning by bandmates Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough on Instagram, Millennium 2.0 will arrive on July 11, a whole quarter-century after the original album first topped the Billboard 200 for 10 weeks. The anniversary edition — for which the group members recreated their iconic album cover, futuristic all-white outfits and all — will feature remastered versions of all the songs on the original tracklist, plus a few uncovered demos and some live recordings from their 1999-2000 Into the Millennium World Tour.
The LP will also include the band’s new single, “Hey!,” which fans can hear as soon as they pre-save Millennium 2.0. “Thank you for still loving this album more than 25 years later and we can’t wait to make a ton of new Millennium Memories with you!” the band wrote. “It’s time for (us) to go to work y’all …”

相隔十二年发行专辑《跟著感觉走》,生活在前、创作在后的区间,张震岳一贯轻松的分享:「有时在冲浪路程,有音乐旋律就哼出来,用手机录,收集出来做歌。」不刻意的创作状态,让生活自然地流进音乐,所有日常皆收拢在这张全新创作专辑中,从生活微观,到能对生命全景的宏观,在新专辑《跟著感觉走》做了不同维度的跨越。

【《跟著感觉走》收集普通人的牢骚 偷渡普通人的情感】
「我话不多,喜欢在角落看著故事发生,喜欢偷听隔壁桌在说什么,很有趣。」摊开专辑十首歌曲,谈论普通人在普通日子里的缺失;张震岳在每个故事现场写生,远看潦草轻率,近看却细腻的耐人寻味。
专辑的前半张制作,去了宜兰山上和花莲海边,在看得到山、海的空间搭建录音设备,边录音边玩耍,制作人黄冠豪谈及制作说到:「移地录音是我希望我跟阿岳的转速一致,我觉得这样的作品才会强壮。」一天录音的进度完成,阿岳就会在附近走走,带大家探路爬山,晚上一起煮烧酒鸡,边享用边弹弹唱唱,所有制作团队,也更有机会走入他的视角,亲身体验他懂得生活才创作的音乐经历,一起在同一个频率上制作一张普通人的专辑。

将浪拟人化,等不到的妳,正如同等不到那道理想的浪。歌曲中鼓与bass的律动缓缓推进,反复堆叠出情绪的起伏。制作过程中,团队花了大量时间来回讨论,只为捕捉那股在海面流动、忽远忽近的氛围。温润细腻的合声与管乐加入,让编曲层次更为丰富,情绪线条更加饱满。
● 搬家 Sadly Moving On
「要把过去丢掉,哪些要丢、哪些要留?」
讲述一段男女感情已到尾声。搬家的过程中,整理物品过去的回忆也随之不断重播,在心里反复上演,歌曲中的主角,也同时对自己生活做自我重整。音乐编排上隽永氛围的开场,渐进预告著搬家不难,自己的问题和回忆最难。

创作灵感从梅雨季的湿热与空气中的气味展开,延伸至当初感情里的误解与不理解,最终成了遗憾。爵士曲风成为阿岳近年创作中偏好的元素,恰如其分地诠释这段悠远的情感故事。

张震岳的创作,脱离不了派对、酒精、男男女女。糟糕的派对、把不到的女孩子,纯情里埋藏著坏坏幻想的故事场景,戏谑有趣;是专辑中录制的第一首歌曲,为完成混乱画面,合声名单落落长,名单内藏有彩蛋嘉宾,提示:浑厚的声音。

2009年,纵贯线第二次来北京开演唱会,那时候还是我爸去现场买的票。那年,张震岳35岁,其他三个人都是五十岁上下的年纪。
十六年后,张震岳也到了当年和他组团的三个老哥哥的年纪。我听着《跟着感觉走》,突然想起了那个在首都体育馆的晚上。像是一种寄存了很久的回忆突然被唤醒的感觉。还好,还有张震岳。

全新专辑《Pleasure》透过文学戏剧中常探讨的“七宗罪”去挖掘“欲望”的面貌,蔡依林想强调“欲望不是原罪”,并在首波释出的概念视觉中,头顶着赤蛇缠绕的“美杜莎欲望桂冠”搭配直击人心的灵魂凝视,邀请大家加入这场Pleasure探索之旅。在东、西方的神话故事中,女娲、美杜莎皆以蛇做为形象,分别展现不同的女性力量,让Jolin认为非常适合诠释“Pleasure”的主题,也是对自己内在欲望的灵魂提问。
蔡依林这回担纲专辑制作人,参与专辑内大部分的词曲创作,她说:“之前等合适的歌词卡关了两三年,有天突然想说不然我来试试看,写了第一首歌后觉得很有成就感,就愈写愈多首,一写完就发给经纪人看。”她笑称歌词创作犹如自我疗愈,专辑制作过程也因为求好心切的个性,其中一首歌的编曲就改了34个版本,坦言自己是属于不断自我推翻又重建的制作人,最后也分享心情“整个制作过程就是我的Pleasure旅程,愉悦不等于极致的快乐,会先感受到痛苦,获得满足之后又感受到自负,又再回到内心的自我怀疑,不断轮回。”

在2025年还在制作这样完整概念的舞曲专辑,丝毫没有被岁月和时间磨平自己,同期的女歌手已经基本退休,男歌手更是摆烂多年。可能歌迷和评论会抱有更高的期待,但这样的Jolin和这张并不算佳作的专辑怎么都让我说不出坏话。这张专辑彻底抛弃了传统意义的华语抒情,Pillow这样的作品放到早期来说也是「太过律动」。cut: Pillow/DIY/Fish Love.

In their first decade as a nine-member K-pop girl group, TWICE became masters at exploring new facets of their concept without ever losing the unwavering cheerfulness that defines it. For <i>THIS IS FOR</i>, TWICE’s fourth full-length album since their 2015 debut, the third-generation squad slides into a comparatively subdued cool-girl persona to explore overlapping themes of female empowerment and romantic frustration, artfully navigating the space between K-pop’s “girl crush” and “bubblegum pop” false binary.

The cool-girl persona is especially on display in <i>THIS IS FOR</i>’s title track, a high-energy song that starts with a chuckle and a shout-out: “This is for all my ladies who don’t get hyped enough/If you’ve been done wrong, then this your song, so turn it up.” TWICE makes room for feelings of otherness on “THIS IS FOR” before using the synth-pop bop “MARS” to expand on the theme: “Do you ever feel like/You don’t belong in the world?” The tale of tested confidence continues in the rolling rhythms of “G.O.A.T.,” a subunit song that has members Mina, Dahyun, and Chaeyoung comparing themselves to a phoenix rising from the ashes in the aftermath of a breakup: “Got me on a roll, yeah, I breathe fire/Try to bring me low but I go higher.”

Released in TWICE’s 10th year as a K-pop group and in the immediate aftermath of the JYP Entertainment squad’s successful contributions to the <i>KPop Demon Hunters</i> soundtrack, <i>THIS IS FOR</i> sees the group also preparing for their This Is For world tour. The 14-track, mostly English-language album includes five subunit songs that fit particularly well into a high-energy set list as an opportunity for non-participating members to rest. 吃亏在小分队的歌曲质量不够好,如果只留完全体作品的话是今年质量绝对可以排到上游的K-Pop专辑。当然,TWICE从团员到制作团队打造出这样一张没啥大问题的专辑也确实不是件难事。主打跟Strategy走了一个风格,继续就做全球市场,个人更喜欢后来的T02和T03。真的称得上越发「时髦」的十年老团,震惊。cut: OPTIONS/MARS.

音乐班底展默契 好友配合蕴含惊喜

Introduced to the world as a bubbly TikTok influencer, the singer/dancer/actor spent 2024 pulling off what looked like a total reinvention—screaming over the remix of mentor Charli xcx’s “Von dutch” remix, then releasing the steamy “Diet Pepsi,” a single charming enough to seduce even the doubters. In fact, Addison Rae was just reintroducing herself. “I always knew that I wanted to make music, I knew I wanted to perform,” Rae tells Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “That was something that was really obvious to me since I was a little girl.” And TikTok was the best way for a teenager from Lafayette, Louisiana, to catapult herself into the seemingly inaccessible world of showbiz.

Pursuing her pop-star dreams in LA studio sessions to write the songs that would become her first EP (2023’s polarizing <i>AR</i>), Rae found herself deferring to the professionals. “When I moved here and started doing sessions, I was like, ‘I need as much guidance as possible,’” she says. “Then, over time, I really started to lean on myself. I really started to lean on my abilities.” In February 2024, Rae met songwriter/producers Elvira Anderfjärd and Luka Kloser (both part of the publishing camp of Swedish pop powerhouse Max Martin) and wrote the effervescent hook of “Diet Pepsi” that same day. “[‘Diet Pepsi’] was such a natural beginning to all of this,” says Rae. “I think it was a perfect introduction in so many ways.”

Cue a string of curveball singles, each one presenting an unexpected new facet, from the moody, minor-key “High Fashion” to the Björk-inspired “Headphones On.” It feels apt, then, that her debut album drops the “Rae” and simply goes by <i>Addison</i>—a collection of dreamy, intense pop songs that sound like self-discovery, tied together less by genre than by mood. Tracks like “Fame Is a Gun” and “Money Is Everything” expertly straddle camp and sincerity: “You’ve got a front-row seat, and I/I got a taste of the glamorous life!” she winks on the former, a dizzy synth-pop number on the perils of hitting the big time.

The songs on <i>Addison</i> are not exactly club bangers, though they’re informed by Rae’s childhood as a dancer; nor are any of them obvious hits. But Rae relished the opportunity to let her creative instincts run wild. “Once you start playing it safe, feeling like, ‘Okay, I’m going to respond with what people want,’ you lose all your freedom,” she says. “You lose all desire for the whole purpose of starting it, and feeling like it’s a form of expression and a reflection. It’s more scary to let that go and give people exactly what they think they want.”

As for what Rae learned in the process of writing the album? “Let yourself play. Let yourself have fun, let yourself mess up,” she says. “I’m not saying, ‘All right, this is the real me now.’ No—it’s always been the real me, and those experiences have completely guided and shaped me to where I am now. It is about arrival—arrival to who I feel like I’ve become, and who has experienced all these ups and downs, to now land here, in this person that I am now.”

Diet Pepsi和Headphones On一头一尾两首这么好听的歌这张debut专辑就已经成功了。中段是合格的,反而是开头部分让我以为是one-hit wonder呢。歌词部分是肉眼可见最能提升的部分,这自然是当代chick们的普遍通病,you are not a easy fuck, but the song sounds like a slut. 好事是歌词是好提升的部分,作为网红出道,有这样的追求和处女作,很厉害了。cut: Diet Pepsi/Headphones On.

拿回自己版权这件事对音乐人说值得鼓励,但姐你这重录质量实在让人不敢恭维。生涯代表作《泡沫》那个「沫」字唱法可太难听了,如果是这样的重录那我还是继续选择保留原版;同样的问题出现在《光年之外》,虽然这歌本身没法碰瓷《泡沫》,但这个版本让人不禁联想起「唱商」这一词来。GEM如果从出道就踏踏实实耕耘粤语流行,间或加一些国语流行,可能身家地位不会超过容祖儿,但至少不会像现在这样,接下来,别重录那个《摩天动物园》就行。cut:睡公主。

The cover art for <i>Virgin</i>—an X-ray of a pelvis with a visible IUD—was a far cry from that of Lorde’s bright, beachy third album, 2021’s <i>Solar Power</i>, whose sun-soaked, jasmine-scented songs drew from Laurel Canyon folk and Y2K soft rock. Looking back, that album’s free-spirited imagery was a bit idealistic—a projection of how the New Zealand native turned New Yorker wished she could be. Her fourth album, as she told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, is a portrait of the 28-year-old singer as she is, without edits or apologies: “Kind of like a photo of yourself that you don’t love, but captures something true about you.”

The resulting songs, written between 2023 and 2025, are forthcoming and visceral, trading <i>Solar Power</i>’s New Age-chill for beats you can feel in your gut. (It’s her first album since her 2013 debut not co-written and -produced by Jack Antonoff; instead, she shared production duties with the LA-based electronic musician Jim-E Stack.) Surrealist introspection gives way to throbbing bass on opening track “Hammer,” where a walk down Canal Street ripples with psychedelic visions. “I had just come off my birth control, and I could not believe how I was feeling,” Lorde told Lowe about the song’s inception. “Everything was pure possibility. That first sound feels like it’s coming from a very guttural place in the body. My sister said, ‘It sounds like it’s coming from your womb.’”

Cue the aura readings, 3 am cigarettes, broken mirrors, pregnancy tests, ego death. On “Man of the Year” and “Favourite Daughter,” questions beget more questions on the subject of what it means to be a woman, and moreover, a woman who’s now been famous for nearly half her life. The latter is at once a love letter to her mother and a meditation on being a teenager thrust into global pop stardom. “There’s been this dynamic for the last 10 to 12 years—and then further back—of wanting so badly to be loved, and to get this approval, and to be the favorite,” she told Lowe. “And it was really moving to me how, even as I was singing this song about my foremost idol and the person who I think is the most amazing in the world, I was also singing about what a crazy thing it is to have happened to you, what happened to me at 16.”

Now the superstar finds freedom in the freefall: “I’ve been up on the pedestal/But tonight I just want to fall,” she sings on the shuffling “Shapeshifter.” “I still don’t know what happens when you put out a record that is like this,” she admitted about the unfiltered portrait <i>Virgin</i> presents. But in its full transparency, she arrives at something like peace.

视觉从前期的预告到主打MV都很好,但歌曲质量没有达到同样的高度。主打延续一贯的Girls Power,但内容仍然显得空洞了,搭配MV食用尚可,只看舞台的话便毫无特点。B面也是亮点寥寥,我心中的ITZY应该是以Locked N Loaded这样的B面作为标准的。cut: Locked N Loaded.

专辑的意义大于歌曲本身,以好妹妹的角度重新传播民歌终归是要比瞎做些假民谣骗钱好得多。《春歌》、《采红菱》的编曲还挺好的,唱的还在舒适区也能接受了(所以说《茉莉花》这歌底子真是太高了,怎么编怎么唱都不会难听)。《无锡景》的改编还是没有能够超越《金陵十三钗》的《秦淮景》,这歌还得是正版吴语女声来唱才对味。

ENHYPEN continues their vampiric agenda with <i>DESIRE : UNLEASH</i>, the K-pop boy group’s sixth EP. The septet’s “concept” (used in K-pop to define a fixed aesthetic and/or narrative theme) had been supernatural since their debut in 2020, but they made their vampirism explicit with 2023’s “Bite Me,” a Y2K-inspired pop track that beckons listeners closer (“Just come kiss me and bite me, yeah”)—at their own risk.

Two years later, by <i>DESIRE : UNLEASH</i>, members Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo, Jungwon, and Ni-ki have become masters at evoking a sense of dangerous desire with a vocal flourish or turn of phrase. “Out in the world, you’re just an angel/But here in the dark, my sacrifice,” they sing in dance-pop lead single “Bad Desire (With or Without You),” which sees “Bite Me” producer Cirkut returning to work with the group.

While the album’s theme may stick tight to the titular unleashed desire, the mode of expression shifts: future bass (“Flashover”), hip-hop trap (“Outside”), pop-rock (“Helium”), and piano-led pop (“Too Close”). <i>DESIRE : UNLEASH</i> also includes the album release of “Loose,” the funky, mid-tempo pop track ENHYPEN originally released in preparation for their first Coachella performance in spring 2025. The track trades supernatural lore for something softer, but keeps the seductive focus: “I don’t wanna waste another second tonight/So in five, four, three, two, one, let’s let it.”

无法超越Monster是可以预料的,但整体来说你很难不喜欢这两个人的合体,考虑到Wendy基本单飞短期合体无望,可能这样二人转也未尝不可。主打除了副歌部分的念经不能接受外(完全可以改得更加风格化),Julie「第三者插足」的效果在出色的编曲下竟然意外地好(Let's not talk about things outside music for a moment)。cut: What's Your Problem?/Heaven.

In the same year IU, aka Lee Ji-eun, starred in the decade-spanning historical drama <i>When Life Gives You Tangerines</i>, the Korean superstar released the third entry in her <i>A Flower Bookmark</i> series. The series, which began in 2014 with <i>A Flower Bookmark</i>, is a nostalgic collection of albums that reinterprets iconic Korean songs in the pop star’s lyrical style. <i>A flower bookmark, Pt. 3</i> was IU’s first addition to the series in eight years, following 2017’s <i>A Flower Bookmark, Pt. 2</i>, and it features collaborations with Korean rapper-singer Wonstein and Korean music collective Balming Tiger.

IU’s six song choices, which feature Korean megahits from the 1970s to 2000s, would be familiar to domestic listeners but new to most international listeners. Lead single “Never Ending Story” was originally released in 2002 by Boohwal, the legendary Korean rock band formed in the 1980s that found a new generation of listeners with the naughts-era breakup ballad. The song had previously been covered by many popular artists, including FTISLAND and MeloMance. IU’s interpretation was arranged by Seo Dong-hwan, who also composed the singer’s 2024 hit “Love wins all.”

Other songs covered by IU in <i>A flower bookmark, Pt. 3</i> include “Red Sneakers,” initially released by Park Hye Kyung in 2002; “October 4th,” originally released by Seo Taiji in 2004; “Last Scene” featuring Wonstein, originally released by Roller Coaster in 2002; “A Beautiful Person” featuring Balming Tiger, originally released by Shin Jung-hyun and the Yupjuns in 1974; and “Square’s Dream,” originally released by White in 1996.

先行立住了一贯的概念,但是主打站不住怎么都救不活。MV整花活打架也改变不了终于没有一位的回归成绩,而这次的B面也没有Fate这样的意外之喜。专辑后半张是更适合娃的舒适区,Unstoppable是全专唯一一首值得收走的歌曲,结尾的芭乐虽然没有惊喜,但至少是比开场更好听的作品。结合Minnie今年Solo的成功和这张里参与制作的Chain也算高过平均水准,要不接下来娟总把更大的制作权限放给其他人吧。cut: Unstoppable.

跳过专辑直接听精选的好处和坏处都很明显,我觉得尤其是对流行乐同质化较强的歌手来说,大体量的合集在无法保证整体抓耳程度的情况下如何把自己的特色和风格在音乐中展现出来,进而给听众留下记忆。这张精选开场是Ado的出道曲,虽然中段有起伏但听到第一碟后半段感觉反而是越来越能接受她的风格(虽然嗓音有辨识度,但演唱表现还是差些)。第二碟则是整体质量不佳,也可能是听感疲劳,两个半小时还是有些久了。我可能在听完这40首后觉得并不能和其他二次元OST歌手拉开差距吧。cut: うっせぇわ/ギラギラ/Freedom/ロックスター/Tot Musica.
