Mats Gustaffson and the Fire! Orchestra return with an album recorded in the company of Jim O'Rourke entitled Echoes and to be released on 14 April 2023 by Rune Grammofon. For the 14th anniversary the Fire! Orchestra presents itself with a gigantic line-up of 43 elements. Within the big band we also find the confirmation of singer Mariam Wallentin, as well as the addition of the voices of David Sandström and Joe McPhee (also present as tenor sax).
Echoes is a new chapter within the discography of Fire! Orchestra discography, different from 2019's Arrival and anything previously released. The nearly two-hour recording of the new Fire! Orchestra will be available on triple vinyl and double CD, in the sumptuous style to which they have accustomed us influenced by jazz, rock, folk, electronic, classical and contemporary music. The project had its live premiere last autumn at the Stockholm Jazz Festival, where the performance received public and critical acclaim and attention from the Scandinavian media. Also involved in the production of Mats Gustafson's new album was Jim O'Rourke, who was given complete freedom in the mix, giving the album the shape that will hit shop shelves in mid-April.
Echoes was mainly composed by its founders Mats Gustafsson, Johan Berthling and Andreas Werliin and recorded at the legendary Atlantis Studio in Stockholm in March last year, while Jim O'rourke mixed it in Japan during the autumn.

Swedish doom originators Candlemass gave birth to an instant classic with their debut, Epicus Doomicus Metalicus. But their 1987 follow-up Nightfall managed to break even more new ground by introducing the operatic bellowing of new vocalist Messiah Marcolin, whose religious lyrics found the perfect match in the slow, grinding power chords written by bassist Leif Edling. Perfect examples of this formula like "The Well of Souls," "Samarithan," and "Bewitched" would become live standards for years to come and are nicely held together by short instrumentals, including a rendition of Chopin's "Marche Funebre." And while the band can't resist thrashing out just a tad on parts of "At the Gallow's End" and "Dark Are the Veils of Death," this is still a cohesive work, and a must for Black Sabbath fans

From cinematic post-rock passages to catchy indie rock interludes, the ten track instrumental debut Dreamer On The Run from Swedish post-rock duo U137 (including members of post-rock foursome Moonlit Sailor) offers a unique combination of sounds glowing with a fresh energy, diversity and originality. Dreamer is the kind of album you listen to over and over again, finding something new to savor each time you listen. This chorus and crescendo here. That arc and arpeggio there. Two words sum it up: Pearl Lakes. Now that, my friends, is epic songwriting. No, wait: The Poet. Or maybe: Midsummer Field. It's all so good. The beautiful melodies and arrangements found on Dreamer are quite skillful and complex despite the seeming simplicity and familiarity of the songs themselves. With the aim of generating a feeling of pure euphoria in the listener, succeed it does...on every plane. U137 is Scandinavian artistry at the highest level.

Darkwater are back with their long-awaited new album "Human", and it surely won't leave fans of melodic metal or progressive metal disappointed! The songs are heavier, more melodic and atmospheric than before and the band worked really hard on tweaking the ten songs and over 76 minutes of playing time into perfection. Jacob Hansen (Evergrey, Volbeat, Amaranthe) was chosen to mix and master the album and he did a fantastic job which resulted in the best sounding Darkwater album to date.
