What can one expect of an album called “Sauropoda”? Think of it as a 2am youtube find. Or that weird looking soviet prog funk LP reissue you never dared to buy. It actually sounds more like a L’Eclair show. Most of the new album comes from deep jams the band road-tested following the recording of Polymood. Some of the tracks faithfully capture the live sound of the band while the rest includes carefully crafted dance floor grooves, last minute studio fantasies and genuine late night jams. L’Eclair is about all those things. And things never sound the same twice.
Sauropoda was recorded in the mountains with the band’s live engineer Benoit “Gérard” Erard. In case anyone ever wonders about the way L’Eclair sounded in 2018, Sauropoda would be the correct answer. Proto-groove was born.

Electric Lady(电妞)来自北京,成立于2012年10月,最早是一支BLACK SABBATH致敬乐队,历经一段时间的磨合后,结合60 70's布鲁斯、厄运、石人、迷幻、老摇滚等元素,形成了成熟的乐队风格,并积累了大量听众。
乐队以科幻,机器人,神秘学等作为表达主题。并带有大量即兴成分,每次现场的演奏都有很多不同之处。

亚特兰大四人组Deerhunter是过去几年最多产、最受欢迎也最受争议的乐团之一,主脑Bradford Cox居功厥伟。
天生一副高瘦骨架,苍白而病奄奄的模样与其说是摇滚乐手,其实更像篮球队的板凳球员;他爱恨分明,时常祸从口出。然而自2007年的破茧作《Cryptograms》一路听来,你得承认他真有几把刷子。Bradford Cox将迷人的病态美灌入Deerhunter的音乐骨干:纹理纤细却经得起拉扯,貌似恍神实则招招命中要害。一旦听上瘾,就再也戒不掉。
Atlas Sound是Bradford Cox的个人计画,专门收录置于Deerhunter专辑嫌太轻、太柔或太实验的个人作,去年的出道碟《Let The Blind Lead Those Who Can See But Cannot Feel》让人惊喜听见Bradford Cox不设防的内心世界,今年这张《Logos》不仅延续了行云流水的风格,许多歌由于都在巡迴时顺手写下(譬如巴士、旅馆甚至场馆后台),《Logos》更有一种逐水草而居的游嬉感。
开头曲〈The Light That Failed〉悄声闪动的音波讯号,〈Attic Lights〉悠扬的小提琴与〈Logos〉鬼魅的电子琴,搭配暖烘烘的原音乐器与Bradford Cox漂浮在空中的歌声,这是Atlas Sound拿手的环境摇滚(Ambient Rock)绝活。不过团结力量大,《Logos》最脱俗的两曲,是邀来Stereolab女主音Laetitia Sadier献唱、长八分钟的神游太虚极品〈Quick Canal〉,及与Animal Collective台柱Panda Bear共谱的〈Walkabout〉。

Among the L.A. groups dubbed Paisley Underground (Dream Syndicate, the Bangles, Three O'Clock), Rain Parade were the closest to being the real deal for their use of psychedelic flourishes thoroughout their first album. Formed in Los Angeles in the early '80s, the group consisted of David Roback (vocals, guitar), Steven Roback (vocals, bass), Matt Piucci (vocals, guitar), Will Glenn (keyboards), and Eddie Kalwa (drums). Their first single, "What She's Done to Your Mind," was a certifiable hit on college radio, and the band quickly followed with a full-length LP for Enigma in 1983, Emergency Third Rail Power Trip. For 1984's Explosions in the Glass Palace, (Restless) the band lost David Roback to Opal, but John Thoman took over and Mark Marcum filled in for the departed Eddie Kalwa. The re-formed band recorded the live album Beyond the Sunset (1985, Restless) and Crashing Dream (Island, 1986) before disbanding. David Roback went on to finesse Opal into Mazzy Star, Steven Roback, and Thoman worked as Viva Saturn, and Piucci recorded an album withCrazy Horse -- yes, that Crazy Horse.

Austin psych-rock outfit The Black Angels released their fourth studio album, Indigo Meadow, just last April. On Record Store Day (April 19th), they’ll return with a follow-up EP entitled Clear Lake Forest, featuring seven brand new songs pressed on limited-edition clear vinyl.
Guitarist Christian Bland invites listeners to accompany the band on a sonic odyssey: “After roaming through the Indigo Meadow, the time has come to journey to the Clear Lake Forest, where 7 tales of diamonds, executioners, and other strange occurrences await underneath the crystal waves lapping in the lake.”
The Black Angels have once again set off on a blues-meets-psych-rock journey and are asking us to come along.

The Summer of Love refers to the summer of 1967, particularly in the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco, where thousands of young people from all over the world loosely and freely united for a new social experience. As a result, the hippie counterculture movement came into public awareness
The beginning of the Summer of Love has popularly been attributed to the Human Be-In at Golden Gate Park on January 14, 1967. The size of that event awakened mass media to the hippie counterculture that was blossoming in the Haight-Ashbury.[1] The movement was fed by the counterculture's own media, particularly The San Francisco Oracle, whose pass-around readership topped a half-million at its peak that year.[2] The grassroots street theater/activism of The Diggers also garnered media attention.
College and high school students began streaming into the Haight on their spring break of 1967. City government leaders, determined to stop the influx of young people once schools let out for summer, brought added attention to the scene. An ongoing series of articles in local papers alerted national media to the hippies' growing momentum. That spring, Haight community leaders responded by forming the Council of the Summer of Love, giving the word-of-mouth event an official-sounding name
Scott McKenzie's recording of the song was released in May 1967. The song was designed originally to promote the June 1967 Monterey Pop Festival, the world's first major rock festival, which was attended by over 200,000 people. "San Francisco" became an instant hit (#4 in the U. S., #1 in the U.K.) and quickly transcended its original purpose.
The evolution of The Beatles and their music also contributed to the global impact of the Summer of Love. The Beatles' album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band was released on June 1, 1967, in Europe and two days later in the U.S.[4] With its psychedelic influences, Indian instrumentals, vivid album cover and drug references, it encapsulated the very essence of the Summer of Love.
The Beatles had moved beyond their "moptop" era, and on June 25, 1967, their song "All You Need Is Love" was heard around the world as part of the "Our World" radio broadcast, further emphasizing the countercultural ideals of love, freedom, and unity.

MGMT are back with their self-titled third studio album. The successor to 2008's Oracular Spectacular and 2010 s Congratulations, MGMT finds Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser continuing to push themselves to expand the boundaries of modern pop music. Returning to Tarbox Road Studios to work with longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann (Co-producer and mixer of Oracular Spectacular and Congratulations, The Flaming Lips, Tame Impala), Andrew and Ben experimented with various in-studio writing processes, allowing the music to tell them where it wanted to go. The result is a diverse and powerful collection of 10 songs (including a cover of "Introspection" by 1960's psych band Faine Jade) that directly mirrors the duo's encompassing surrealist view of the everyday (see below for full track listing).
The world was given a taste of MGMT in April with the Record Store Day release (on limited edition cassette single) of album opener "Alien Days," hailed as an instant MGMT classic by fans and described by Rolling Stone as a "shimmering, psychedelic soundscape" and Spin as "a sumptuously detailed, exquisitely zonked-out space-rock construction."
In preparation for the highly anticipated release of MGMT, the band have begun assembling a variety of unique visual elements to accompany and illuminate the new music via "the Optimizer." Kraut ripulito e aggiornato, scomparso l'odore marcio dell'afghano si sente giusto quello di synth un po' ammuffiti, ma fa solo piacere. Ha uno spirito d'annata ma suona odierno, non è strettamente vintage. Buona costruzione melodica, bei suoni, ritmi variegati, l'album (coinciso quanto basta) si lascia ascoltare tutto con vero piacere, in particolare dalla traccia 4 in cui prende il volo. Forse manca il pezzo forte di per sé (qualche picco: Saturn at 85, The Blood), ma accetto l'album gradevole nel complesso.

——木玛首张个人专辑《丝绒公路》跳起不一样的舞
曾经的木马乐队,以其低调唯美的气质,感动了一双双敏感的耳朵。在仅仅发行过的两张专辑和一张EP里,那些被翻来覆去播放的歌曲植根于许多摇滚青年的少年梦里。
人们开始把目光聚焦在那个有着独特嗓音的主唱身上——长发的木玛在舞台上歌唱时,完全沉浸在自己的情绪里。出生在夏天的木玛具备狮子座典型的好强热烈和冷静优雅的双重性格,无法忽略的领导气质、随时可以爆发的情绪化,还有一股迷人的异类气息。
尽管木马乐队宣告暂时停止,木玛的脚步却一刻也不曾停下。发行一张个人唱片是木玛03年就开始计划的,而这个夏天,重新归来的木玛,愿望成真,向所有热爱木玛或是怀疑木玛的人呈上一张40分钟的全长唱片。
为了这张唱片,木玛在去年创建了3rd Party乐队,一切从零开始,花费了整整一年时间和乐队的三个小伙子沟通、磨合。在经历了长达10个月的创作和制作期以后,新唱片带着10首风格迥异的作品终于成形。
新唱片依然由木玛作曲填词并与吉他手关伟共同制作。汉亚文化还特别邀请了日本金牌混音师家守久雄先生来到北京为专辑进行后期制作。在对人声的处理中,家守先生与木玛心意相通的保留了粗糙的颗粒感,没有刻意修饰人声,连之前木马专辑中大量使用的人声混响也舍弃了。吉他声音也大多由简单的音箱失真发出,很少使用效果器,保持了摇滚乐的原始质感。
新唱片带有木玛一贯的根植于post-punk和classic-rock的独特气息,讲究情绪和氛围感。歌曲旋律流畅,显得大气而宽广。部分曲目中合成器的引入及和声的加入,使得音乐元素更加丰富。新的音乐不光延续了木玛以前表达出的绝望和抑郁,还注入了新的情绪,让忧伤不仅仅有一种表达方式——苍茫、华丽,甚至是戏谑。
在谈到这张个人专辑时,木玛表示,这张专辑里收录的歌曲都在展现一种生活和创作状态的真实写照,大多描写一些私人的时光和记忆。对于木玛来说,新唱片是一次全新的尝试,体现着他更进一步的态度,这就是自始至终贯穿的骄傲感。这种骄傲感使得整张唱片变成了一个新鲜而有趣的开端,一次奇特而漫长的音乐旅行。

比较“My Beautiful Sinking Ship”与“Stars At Saint Andrea”两张专辑就会发现,前者比后者更用力,显出急不可耐的表达激情。从一首表现Sara的嗓音从纤细柔美到浑厚有力的“Heart and hands”开始,Devics急欲将他们的技巧表现得淋漓尽致,于是标题曲“My Beautiful Sinking Ship”登场,铿锵的节奏与Sara在沧桑与婉转之间自由变换的嗓音,一幅宏大而又不失细节的海景拉开了。紧接着是一首摇滚味很浓的“You In The Glass”,之后便是数首Devics拿手的慢板情歌。“You Could Walk Forever”、“Why I Chose To Never Grow”等都是他们精心培植的动人的暗夜玖瑰。
到了新专辑“Stars At Saint Andrea”,乐队的心态似乎受到了宁静的意大利乡村之夜的影响。这是一张浑然一体的、创作者深陷其中的专辑。一首冷冷的略带电子味的“Red Morning”和柔情绵绵的“Don\'t Take It Away”之后,是他们迄今最好听的一首男女声二重唱:Sara与Dustin如情人般轻轻吟吟唱“In Your Room”的时候,一个柔美如水,一个粗糙如木,这张力巨大的结合把一个有关分别的场景描绘得如诗如画,却真正把他们要表达的哀意抹入最隐蔽的内层。越来越迷恋夜晚,越来越习惯用幻觉与柔情表达他们不变的颓伤主题。Dustin天生悲凉的嗓音以“Safer Shore”里又把我们带回海边;“Conneted By A String”讲述了由一根小线牵连的两个女孩的故事,超现实主义的主题下暗含着恐惧的阴影;平静得让人崩溃的“Stretch Out Your Arms ”决非是出自人的声音,这首歌正是对他们名字的十足诠释:黎明之前,精灵们带着一个温和的灵魂踏上了去天使之城的飘渺之路……
