发布日期 1991年11月15日
This was the acclaimed debut album by the famous Zaps, five young women of Congolese/Belgian origin who conquered the world with their joyous acapella mix of Pygmy music, human beatbox sounds, Central African or Arabic pop tunes, ragamuffin under Zairean influence, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and a touch of soul & gospel... Zap Mama's origins, message and musical choices embodied and glorified the virtues of cultural mix and interracialism. The beauty and freshness of their vocal harmonies, their entertaining, humorous & energetic stage show generated tremendous enthousiasm all around Europe and the USA (where this record was the second best-selling world music album of 93, according to Billboard).

Produced by Vincent Kenis (who later went on to produce Konono N°1 etc).

Following their debut album "the shooting star's sigh..." (in 2004), SWEEK is back with a second opus called "the unbelievable cinematic crash". The band keeps the same recipe swinging between melancholy and rage. But some guests appear and give some new colours to the sextet Post-Rock: Han Stubbe (clarinet from D.A.A.U.), Aurore Grelet (harp), Nicolas Montulet (acordeon), Yago (trumpet, trombon).
Recorded under the leadership of Stéphane Bombard, SWEEK release here a conclusive, this Belgian six-piece from the region of Andenne delivers an epic follow up that clocks in at 63 minutes for 6 songs. As this band plays long instrumental tracks and uses violin and cello next to the usual guitars, bass and drums, it could be easily compared to Godspeed You Black Emperor or other post rock trendsetters such as Explosions In The Sky or Mogwai.
