John William Coltrane was an American jazz saxophonist and composer. Working in the bebop and hard bop idioms early in his career, Coltrane helped pioneer the use of modes and was at the forefront of free jazz.

白水『声动』计划之第二辑《拼图》，是一部为单一声音材料所作的组曲。作者尝试使用相对简单的器乐演奏、人声材料、实地录音架构出一本无字的叙事组诗。
全本《拼图》分三章，包含五首器乐曲和三首人声曲。在器乐曲目中，《四弦道》、《暗杀》、《石蛙川》的主要声音材料分别来自中阮、吉他、洞箫的即兴独奏，而《偏头痛》和《怪蛾》的材料则是采自铜铃、镲片等金属打击乐器，及部分日用金属器皿。三首人声曲目《五粒沙》、《矮人》、《此心》由姚春旸、袁田、安娜等三位女声演唱，是演唱者分别对应每章中的器乐曲目所作。另外，在部分音乐中，作者还使用到了实地录音素材及少量软硬件合成器的声音采样。
