Olivia Ong, 她是新加坡人，在日本走紅，但唱的主要是英文。去年推出過<GIRL MEETS BOSSA NOVA>和<GIRL MEETS BOSSA NOVA 2>。曾翻唱英文金曲如《 Fly Me To The Moon》和《Make It With You》等。
最新专辑<Fall In Love With Olivia>載有一首日本歌，兩首國語歌，再加九首英文歌。像要殺盡整個亞洲市場。現在為大家選來的是兩首嘗試 show off 功力的作品，《Only with You》和《Foolery》，都是她自己的作品。《Only with You》頭半首是清唱，下半再加簡單的結他伴奏，而《Foolery》就用些很簡單的樂器做底。風格帶出的感覺很清新涼快，像陣陣清風，很適合炎夏來消消暑。
至於唱功（這才是她原本的重點）方面，我暫不作評論，大家可以沒有 bias 地自己鑑賞一下。我可以說的是這錄音不錯。清唱的歌也很立體，敲擊樂器聲，結他聲，呼吸聲，口水聲等等全都做得很細緻。

2005年Katie发行了她的第二张录音室专辑"Piece By Piece"。首支单曲主打Nine Million Bicycles融合着爵士的流行味道慢版的抒情小调扑面而来。而对于我们来说，最重要的是，她讲述了一个来自北京的故事。一般来说，专辑的前三支单曲都是抓人耳朵的。所以，从Shy boy,Nine Million Bicycles,再到专辑同名歌曲Piece By Piece，我们听到的是基于流行和接近平淡的Katie的声音和演唱。甚至对我来说，Piece By Piece最后的抒情有太多的矫柔造作。当三支流行单曲过后，Katie才开始展现她的才华。于是我们听到了跳跃的Halfway Up The Hindu Kush。低沉的爵士鼓，轻盈的打击乐器。

Highlights from Katie’s three albums (‘Call Off The Search’, ‘Piece By Piece’ and ‘Pictures’) are joined by ‘When You Taught Me How To Dance’, from the film Miss Potter, and three new songs recorded for this album release - Toy Collection (written by Katie for the MySpace film ‘Faintheart’), ‘Somewhere In The Same Hotel’ (a slow, bluesey song co-written by Katie and Mike) and ‘Two Bare Feet’ (a brand new, up-tempo, foot-tapping Katie/Mike co-write).

According to Melua, the inspiration for the song came from when her interpreter during her time in Beijing, China, was showing her and her manager, Mike Batt, around the city. The interpreter gave them information about Beijing, including that there are supposedly nine million bicycles in the city. Batt wrote a song based around the title "Nine Million Bicycles" upon his return to England two weeks later, and it was one of the last songs to be recorded for Piece by Piece. Adrian Brett, who played the ethnic flutes on Batt's album Caravans (1978), contributed to the song; an ocarina was used for the low sounds, and a Chinese bamboo flute for the high sounds.
Melua said that she liked the song "because it is a simple juxtaposition of a trivial idea ("Nine Million Bicycles") against an important idea ("I will love you till I die")".[2] The website indieLondon named it one of the "highlights" of Piece by Piece, describing it as "genuinely sweet ... The meandering blasts of flute that weave their way throughout lend the song a Chinese feel and make it quite enticing."[3]
The single's video, directed by Kevin Godley, features Melua being dragged across the floor through a variety of settings, including a brief shot of the Summer Palace (Yiheyuan, Chinese: 颐和园/頤和園) in Beijing, until she returns to a picnic in a park with her friends.
The song was featured prominently in a high-profile radio and television advertising campaign for the Slovenian cell-phone operator Mobitel.

Back to Black is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, released in October 2006 on Island Records. The album has spawned a number of singles such as "Rehab", "You Know I'm No Good", "Back to Black", "Tears Dry on Their Own", and "Love Is a Losing Game". Back to Black has received universal critical acclaim, and has been praised for its classic jazz/soul vibe, "vintage production style", accomplished songwriting, and Winehouse's mature and emotive singing style. It has appeared on numerous year-end Top Ten Lists produced by The Austin Chronicle, Billboard Magazine, Blender Magazine, Slant Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, The New York Times and Time Magazine.
At the 50th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony, Back to Black won five awards, tying the record (with Lauryn Hill, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, and Beyoncé) for the most awards won by a female artist in a single ceremony. The album won Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Song of the Year and Record of the Year for "Rehab"; Winehouse also won Best New Artist.

现年20岁，来自新加坡的OLIVIA，全名Olivia Ong，本来由一位在日本无名的小女生，变成了乐迷备受赞赏的女歌手。
2004年11月，日本埼玉县stadium内举行了世界杯亚洲区选拔赛，当时比赛是日本对新加坡，赛前Olivia就是在6万名观众之下清唱了新加坡国歌，当时19岁的她以充满魅力的歌声令众人一听难忘，掌声如雷。其后听过她演唱的人更专程往CD店询问她推出的CD，那时她只拥有一张刚发行的流行曲专辑“ Precious Stone”，亦是她的首张个人大碟。
全碟以英文歌为主，充满了电子风格、跳舞节奏(Dance Pop)的一张专辑。虽然演绎跳舞作品，但是她的声音依然使人着迷。
翌年(2005年) 3月，她终于遇上了巴沙诺瓦(Bossa nova)，应监制提议，以OLIVIA名义推出了“ a girl meets bossanova”。整张“ a girl meets bossanova”专辑中，OLIVIA用Bossa nova的节奏编排，翻唱了8首英文名曲，其中有为人熟悉的“fly me to the moon”、“My Favorite Things”(来自Sound Of Music”)和“The Girl From Ipanema”(Asturd Gilberto)。轻柔编曲配上温和的声线，深得日本、新加坡等地乐迷热烈好评，她的人气度继而渐渐上升中。

Diana Krall: Live at the Montreal Jazz Festival is a portrait of an already-accomplished musician in the process of evolving into a great artist. Always a fine jazz pianist, an expressive singer, and a capable interpreter (mostly of the Great American Songbook), Krall spent little time developing an original voice prior to her marriage to Elvis Costello and her CD The Girl in the Other Room, which features multiple songwriting collaborations with Costello as well as more adventurous choices in cover material (Joni Mitchell's "Black Crow," Tom Waits's "Temptation"). That 2004 recording is the centerpiece of this concert; fully nine of the 13 selections here, including the Waits and Mitchell songs as well as five Costello-Krall compositions, were drawn from it. Purists may lament the lessening of the straight-ahead jazz element in Krall's music (indeed, with its simple major chords and countryish lilt, the original "Narrow Daylight" will inevitably invite comparisons to Norah Jones). But Krall and her excellent band still swing mightily (cf. an extended version of the standard "All or Nothing at All") and improvise like the seasoned jazz pros they are. It's a heady combination: Krall is at least as good an instrumentalist as her contemporaries; add to that her singing and now an interest in songwriting that reflects the influence of pop music as well as jazz, and you have a genuinely unique talent.

French edition of the Swedish jazz/pop vocalist's 1995 outing of Jazz standards includes two bonus track's (two versions of) 'It's Oh So Quiet' & 'It's Oh So Quiet. Often compared to Astrud Gilberto & Claudine Longet the remaining tracks on this ace mellow summery album include, 'When Did You Leave Heaven', 'But Not For Me', 'Cry Me A River', 'Love For Sale', 'Lush Life', 'You Are Gonna See A Lot Of Me', 'It Was Just One Of Those Things', 'The Boy Next Door', 'I'm A Fool To Want You' & 'Blame It On My Youth'.

The Look of Love is the sixth studio album by Canadian singer Diana Krall, released on September 18, 2001 by Verve Records. It became Krall's first album to top the Canadian Albums Chart. In 2002, the album earned Al Schmitt the Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.

Martin Scorsese的戛纳金棕榈奖力作，音乐是电影配乐大师Bernard Herrmann的晚年传奇的绝作，70年代的纽约被他刻画的令人心碎凄厉而又交织了纸醉金迷。
这部电影的成功有一多半要归功于这个配乐，音乐就像是流动在德·尼罗、纽约底层、朱迪·福斯特、出租车、马丁·斯科赛斯、甚至观众之间的一种介质，没有那忧郁的萨克斯的引领，我们和电影之间就缺少了一种感性的共鸣，而单独听配乐，仿佛置身于黑夜中的70年代，充满了未知与渴望的冲突。只是其中，总有一丝忧虑伤穿愁肠。
关于Bernard Herrmann
1911年6月29日出生于纽约市。他的父母很鼓励他在艺术方面的兴趣 。Herrmann 1927年时在 DeWitt Clinton中学开始接受正规的音乐教育。在纽约大学(NYU)时和 Philip James 学习作曲，和Albert Stoessel学习指挥，并且在茱利亚学院待过两年，但之后又回到NYU练习进阶作曲及管弦编制。年轻时他接触过Copland(柯普兰)、 Gershwin和Elgar的音乐 ，但影响其风格更甚者为华格纳、马勒、德步西以及拉威尔。
1937年赫曼进入CBS Radio，在教育部门工作；但其最大的兴趣仍在于指挥，随后即转任CBS交响乐团指挥，在这期间也认识了导演Orson Welles。随Welles的Mercury Theatre Playhouse group(水晶广播剧院)转移到好莱乌后，Herrmann写了清唱剧(cantata)“Moby Dick(1938)”以及歌剧“咆哮山庄”。1941年Orson请他为大国民(Citizen Kane)谱写配乐，从此之后声名大噪。
当时二十世纪福斯的录音室音乐指导Alfred Newman(阿佛列德纽曼，汤玛斯纽曼的父亲)僱用他为 Jane Eyre(1943)、Hangover Square(1945)、Anna and the King of Siam(1946)、The Ghost and Mrs.Muir(1947)、The Day the Earth Stood Still(1951)等电影配乐。

这张专辑并不是你们从规模，造型或是整体外形上定义的那种流行音乐专辑，但是WE ARE ONE 却比当今广播单曲榜前40名的歌曲更加富有感召力。专辑歌曲的语言种类有英语，意大利语，法语，梵语；主旋律中还加入了爵士和古典的元素，因此，WE ARE ONE 给人一种在当今流行乐坛那种少见的深度，亲和力和高雅。美妙的“Giorno Dopo Giorno”（意大利语：“日复一日”）中，思威特那颤抖的高音，伴随着让人陶醉的管弦乐，带给听众一种通常只能在世界上最好的歌剧院才能够感受到的快感。Sweet说，“这首歌本来是用英语创作的，歌名是‘我能相信谁？’我们认为这首歌的主旋律太过于欧化，跟歌词的搭配不是很好，后来我们请来了曾经为Josh Groban 写过意大利歌词的Marco Marinangelli， 将这首歌译成意大利语，歌词出来的感觉太美了。” Sweet说，她总是能够被这种语言的美丽的发音深深的吸引，但这些都并非是英语所能及的。她还说到，“我是在11岁的时候开始接受正规的训练，而且那个时候我开始用其它语种唱歌，因此它们对我来说总是那么容易。”
