Korpiklaani（芬兰语，意思是森林一族），表面上看似乎是成立于2003年的新进芬兰民谣金属乐队，其实早在这之前10年的1993年乐队就已组建，当时乐队叫Shaman（撒满）并发行过两张专辑。后来由于另一个乐团“分裂出 Shaman”，乐团长Jonne“怕被Andre的支持者围攻”，也为了确立自己的风格，于是就有了Korpiklaani这样一个充满芬兰民族精神的名字。其实无论Shaman还是Korpiklaani，乐队都明确的表达着Jonne J?rvel?强烈的个人风格，即传统芬兰民谣与金属的结合。手风琴、长笛、手鼓……他们从森林中汲取灵感，甚至直接取材于芬兰民谣，而这也是他们与其他 Folk Metal乐队区别最大的地方——就是将金属元素加入民谣，而不是将民谣元素加入金属。大部分Korpiklaani的歌轻松、欢快，很容易让人产生愉悦的心情，而不象大多数金属乐团一样阴暗而压抑
