Saw this in the theater with my wife as a Dolly Parton tribute dealio. Not a dry eye in the place when the credits rolled.

I've mentioned before that I've seen this a bunch and I love it, but the best part of this viewing were the whispering older women behind us.

Shelby (Julia Roberts) has a baby in the back half of the film, a little boy with the whitest blonde hair you've ever seen and is named after his daddy, Jackson (Dylan McDermott). It's the only baby in the whole movie.

After Shelby beefs it, her mom (Sally Field) asks her family "Where's Jack Jr?" "Aunt Fern's watching him" answers one of her sons/Shelby's brothers. She leaves the hospital to go pickup Jack Jr. from Aunt Fern's. When she arrives, the aunt comes outside with Jack Jr. - the only baby in the whole movie with unmistakable white blonde hair - and the toddler runs to his grandma.

Lady #1: "Well now who's this baby?!" (genuine confusion in her loud whisper)
Lady #2: "That's Julia Roberts boy, Sally Struthers went to go pickup her grandson."

YOU DON'T KNOW WHO THE LITTLE BOY IS AND YOUR FRIEND CALLED SALLY FIELD "SALLY STRUTHERS." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

Anyway, great movie that will hold up forever.

Madeline is married to Ernest, who was once arch-rival Helen's fiance. After recovering from a mental breakdown, Helen vows to kill Madeline and steal back Ernest. Unfortunately for everyone, the introduction of a magic potion causes things to be a great deal more complicated than a mere murder plot.

My dad took me to see this in theaters when I was 11. I don't think he liked the movie but I distinctly remember doing a blurt laugh at the ending.
Anyway, still pretty good.
