Excellent film
I've seen it once on a festival, at the time it came out, and I was impressed. Would love to see it again, but it doesen't seem to be published in the western Europe.
I don't remember much of it nowdays, but the main idea was that there is a forgotten underwater museum somewhere in the sea!
So the main characters go in search for it. There are a lot of horrific scenes with a great number of real mentally retarded people, and it takes some bravery to watch it, but, at the end the film can be compared to the ones of Tarkovsky.

“我”（菅貫太郎 饰）是一名电影导演，当前正在拍摄一部带有自传性质的影片，影片的情节如下：童年的“我”（高野浩幸 饰）生活在一个偏远山村，与母亲过着孤单辛苦的生活。父亲早年过世，“我”只能通过巫术叫出父亲的鬼魂与他对话。隔壁的少妇（八千草薫 饰）美艳动人，我深深为之着迷。某日，一支流动马戏团来到“我”的村庄，从他们的口中，“我”得知外面大千世界的精彩。于是在某个夜晚，“我”和隔壁的少妇整理行囊，偷偷离开了家乡。
影片进行到这里，“我”却突然陷入瓶颈。那天，“我”遇到了童年的自己，藉着对童年时代的回溯，“我”发现影片中竟然有着如此多的虚伪和不真实。“我”找到了真实的过去，以及所有被刻意遗忘的残酷回忆……

如果不错的话，这部影片和Dusan Makavejev的《WR:有机体的秘密》（1971）、Jovan Jovanovic的《像玫瑰一样年轻》（1971）一起是70年代前南电影黑浪潮中三部最反叛的作品。。。居然都来自1971年！~~~
The two Marxes, Karl and Groucho, are the main sources of inspiration for this film, where the private world of the family and the national revolution of 1945 collide. Cengic's dissection of Yugoslav socialism was censored by the authorities and he worked little over the following decade.
In its given historical context, one of the most subversive stills in this book. Only in Yugoslavia -- and only for a limited period -- could it have been possible to show (and then to eat) a Stalin-cake with a candle growing out of his head. From a bizarre political film farce that expressed the ideological disillusionment of a new generation.
