Probably the world's most significant contemporary dream pop group Beach House has announced a new collection of B-Sides and rarities appropriately titled "B-Sides and Rarities". It follow's Beach House's last two albums "Thank Your Lucky Stars" and "Depression Cherry" which both came out in 2015. This new compilation was teased months ago, but only was just now announced very quietly with just an iTunes listing. It will be released June 30th via Sub Pop.

2015年，Ira、James、Georgia這三位一同走過25年的夥伴，因為軟體更新被迫更換工作室的錄音器材，於是靠著即興演奏熟悉新的器材。剛好他們接到一個案子：根據曾轟動全球書市的《背離親緣》一書構想而拍攝的同名紀錄片，其劇組找上門尋求部分配樂，工作數月後交出了對方喜愛的作品，三個人非常高興，因為即使貴為當今世上最棒的樂團之一，仍曾被業主狠狠打槍過。

自從傳奇專輯《Electr-O-Pura》以來，Yo La Tengo的創作過程總是充滿機遇、重製、拼貼，唯一的目標只是滿足自己的完美品味，讓堅毅且幽默的本性自然散發。於是配樂的案子結束後，他們自認時候到了，在沒有預先完成詞曲的情況下，著手將累積多年的錄音素材重新整理編曲成這張新專輯。

專輯名稱與1971年Sly and the Family Stone的經典專輯同名，呼應美國社會正面臨相同的黑暗時期。樂團自主製作，混音則交由2013年專輯《Fade》期間合作愉快的John McEntire擔綱，更加減少吉他聲響比例，凸顯如詩如畫的流動感。Krautrock演奏曲〈You Are Here〉揭開序幕，替整張專輯寫下甜美前言；〈She May, She Might〉宣示The Velvet Underground當今唯一傳人的地位；〈For You Too〉彷彿重新演繹經典名曲〈Blue Line Swinger〉，過去的催人淚下昇華成自在豁達；而極微聲響〈Shortwave〉之後的曲子，則是呈現Yo La Tengo近年節拍實驗的豐碩成果：Sun Ra式前衛爵士的〈Above the Sound〉、森巴搖擺的〈Esportes Casual〉、帶有trip hop氣味的〈Out of Pool〉，Ira也承認這麼多年來，他們總以錯誤的方式製作音樂，也非常自傲完成了獨一無二的風格。

在海上隨波浪漂浮時，耳裡嗡嗡作響，找到與自己對話的凝結時空，我們想起了夢想是甚麼。這就是Yo La Tengo的音樂暴動，直教人感嘆：「幸好有Yo La Tengo，他們的音樂將拯救一切！」

Julia Shammas Holter (born December 18, 1984) is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, composer and artist, based in Los Angeles. A CalArts graduate, Holter released her first studio album, Tragedy, in 2011. Her second studio album, Ekstasis, followed in 2012. After signing with Domino Records in 2013, she released her third studio album, Loud City Song. Her fourth studio album, Have You in My Wilderness, was released in 2015, after which she released a live-in-the-studio album, In the Same Room, in 2017. Her fifth studio album, Aviary, was released in 2018.
Holter has also collaborated with other musicians, including Nite Jewel, Laurel Halo, Ducktails, Linda Perhacs, Michael Pisaro, and Jean-Michel Jarre.

After a 10 year hiatus, Western New York space rockers The Daysleepers have returned to envelope you in a wave of cosmic oblivion with their new album "Creation". With songs ranging from massive wall-of-sound epics (Sundiver/Flood in Heaven/Creation), Chill, ambient drifters (This Dark Universe/The Memorymaker/The Monolith), and spacey, upbeat new wave cuts (Arclights/Tropics), The Daysleepers show more variety than ever before, proving they can bring different hues and shades to the shoegaze/dream pop genre all under the umbrella of one momentous album. As Creation effortlessly cascades through ambient textures, thick layers of jetstream guitars, and a thundering rhythm section, one thing is for sure...you've never heard The Daysleepers this big before.

In San Francisco ontmoette Alex Callier jaren geleden een taxichauffeur die in de sixties tot 'president of the LSD Golf Club' benoemd was, omdat hij karrenvrachten acid slikte voor hij loos ging op een poepchic golfterrein.
Die psychedelische sfeer laat zich ook voelen op Hooverphonics zesde plaat. Daarop belijdt Alex Callier meer dan ooit zijn liefde for all things sixties. In de dwingende single 'Expedition Impossible' bijvoorbeeld, waarin een Doorsorgeltje en Geike Arnaert een glansrol delen. Maar ook de caleidoscopische ballad 'Black Marble Tiles' of het hippieachtige duet '50 Watt' ademen een psychedelische sfeer uit. Om het sixties-plaatje perfect te maken nam de groep alle songs analoog op, in één take.
Dat had duidelijk invloed op het bekende geluid: Hooverphonic legt de bombast van vroeger naast zich neer (al hoor je zowaar een klavecimbel in 'The Eclipse Song') en de band klinkt minder strak dan op vorige platen.
Toch blijven er genoeg aanknopingspunten. Het prachtige 'Gentle Storm' en 'Billie' zijn in essentie très Hooverphonic, net als de opener 'Stranger', die wel erg doet denken aan 'Nirvana Blue' (van de Jackie Cane-plaat). Hooverphonic for president! Van welke club, maakt voor ons niet eens uit. (PIAS) (GVA) (****)

一直都有最大的冲动写This Mortal Coil,毕竟他们是我最认同和喜欢的乐队，反而这成了我写他们的最大障碍，怎么写自己也不满意。也一直有感觉想介绍《Blood》给大家，因为一些凌乱却最简单的原因，算了就让我这样凌乱的说出来吧：
从我3年半前拥有这张唱片的时候就把它当成自己听过的最优秀的一张，现在依然这样认为；他是在Darkwave/低调音乐圈里面的高标，把那种超纯唯美，超纯阴暗的色调深入到一个别人难以企及的境地。这样的事情，以前没有人尝试做过，以后也难以有人超越；也是到目前为止我唯一一次勒紧腰带，连续三次购买同张原版唱片的傻瓜行为的元凶；我想说的是，很高兴我能拥有This Mortal Coil的每张大碟，每张都是给我满分的感受，但是，这张：却更远远不是满分那么一点；你认同4AD么？喜欢Cocteau Twins,Dead Can Dance,difjuz等低调乐队么？嗯，别那么早否定/肯定完4AD，直到听过这个真正4AD的精髓和灵魂的所在，这个致命线圈为止吧；或者不是因为This Mortal Coil的出现，在那个时代，那些游离在死亡和崩溃边缘的音乐,Bauhaus,xmaldeutashland，都会失去探求无边黑暗的引标和强大而统一的力量……
这张Blood中，最吸引的地方不只是因为首脑人物，Ivo(4AD老板)不再局限在4AD王国里面发展This Mortal Coil，而是聚集了各处精英，而且在以前This Mortal Coil那深黑不见底的纯唯美世界里面引入了那么丝丝点点亮光.
从我个人的角度来说：有了这一张，其他唱片都可以放弃。

90年的Heaven Or Las Vegas是走向舞曲的作品，更是DREAM-POP音乐的典范，唱片一改以往阴郁的音乐基调，四处飘逸的是明亮的吉他声和欢快的旋律，Fraser的声线也变得柔软亲和。
