"Tru" comes with a slow-burning instrumental from the almighty J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League.

2011 album from the contemporary R&B vocalist. In 2004, he released his solo debut single/album, Southside. It debuted at #11 on the US Billboard 200 and #3 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums charts, selling over 67,000 copies in its first week. In 2006, Lloyd re-entered the recording studio to start work on Street Love with producers Bryan-Michael Cox, James Lackey, Jazze Pha, Big Reese and Jasper Cameron and The Inc.'s 7 Aurelius. The album debuted at #2 on the US Billboard 200 and Top R&B/HipHop albums charts. It eventually received a gold certification, and has sold over half-a-million copies. Lloyd also released a 2009 EP entitled Like Me: The Young Goldie EP.

As an extension of his 2016 EP TRU, R&B singer/songwriter Lloyd drops his full length LP of the same name today (August 31).
The album is comprised of the four tracks from the EP plus seven new songs, including the previously-released bop “Caramel.” Sevyn Streeter, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, River, and The Spelman Woman’s Choir all contribute their talents to the opus.
About the LP, Lloyd said, “I wanted to put a lot of soul into it, you know? Kind of comparing music to food, I would say the goal was to stay as far away from fast food as possible and to focus on soul food. Definitely a lot of humanizing moments for me as an artist and as a man. Just talking about family, talking about the loss of loved ones, and now that I’m experiencing fatherhood, I’m kind of talking about that as well.”
