Come to My Garden is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Minnie Riperton which was produced, arranged and orchestrated by Charles Stepney and released in 1970 under GRT Records . It was re-released on CD in 1999. None of the CD editions have material transferred directly from the original master tapes. All CD editions were mastered in UK, USA and other countries using LP records and different noise reduction methods. It is quite possible that original tapes that belonged to GRT were lost forever.

British singer-songwriter and guitarist Lianne La Havas is back with a new single. It’s called “Bittersweet.”
“I’d forgotten how much I love singing,” Lianne La Havas said in a press release. “I’ve tapped into the best and worst parts of me and while I didn’t expect this to be the direction of my new music, it’s my reality and it’s driven by emotion.”
Lianne La Havas’ last album was 2015’s Blood. In 2016, a Matthew Herbert remix of her song “Lost and Found” appeared on DJ Koze’s Pampa Vol. 1 compilation.

After the first part of the album arrived earlier this year, Moses Sumney’s full new album græ arrives this Friday (May 15) via Jagjaguwar. Today, Sumney shared a new song from the album.
The album features “Virile,” “Polly,” “Me in 20 Years,” and “Cut Me,” which were all previously released. “Cut Me” recently got a new music video, and prior to the pandemic forcing the show into all remote broadcasts, he performed the song on Colbert. Sumney issued his full-length debut Aromanticism* in 2017.

Moses Sumney evades definition as an act of duty: technicolour videos and monochrome clothes; Art Rock and Black Classical; blowing into Fashion Week from a small town in North Carolina; seemingly infinite collaborators, but only one staggering voice. A young life spent betwixt Southern California and Accra, Ghana — not so much rootless as an epyphite, an air plant. The scale is cinematic but the moves are precise deeds of art and stewardship. With productions and songs from Freddie Perren and Fonce Mizell, Hell Up in Harlem is the scathing and soulful soundtrack of the motion picture starring Fred Williamson. This was Edwin Starr's last album for Motown which probably accounts for the woeful lack of promotion. Two singles were released, Hell Up in Harlem, the first, should have remained an album cut, as its appeal was limited, despite a dogmatic vocal by Edwin. However, the follow up, "Big Papa," should have been a monster. Written by Freddie Perren, it has the same power, forcefulness and drive of numbers that Norman Whitfield had produced on Rare Earth and the Temptations. The flips of both singles, "Don't It Feel Good to Be Free" and "Like We Used to Do," are mellower than the push sides. The bone picker, however, is "Easin' In," a great mid-tempo number with cool backing vocals, and a great reading from Starr, it has chart buster written all over it, yet Motown never released it as a single. Mind boggling, since Starr's final single for Berry's empire, "Who's Right Or Wrong," backed with "Lonely Rainy Days in San Diego," dropped six months after "Papa," but doesn't rate with "Easin'." Even more puzzling is why Phillips, which owns the Motown masters, hasn't reissued this winner on CD.
