We managed to make a real album and “Bull’s Eye”was born. Katrina Camus has a phrase in solitude and solidarity: "I always feel on the sea: threatened in the center of great happiness."This is the original intention of our creation of “Bull’s Eye”. A typhoon means passive acceptance and inability to resist. It subtly forms the stress when this sense of passivity occupies most of your life. It is like a whirlpool, but the pressure and the typhoon are not the same. The typhoon stops for a short time, and the pressure is pervasive. It is even possible that you have been passively accepted for the rest of your life. There is no export at all . This typhoon has been trying to get excited in our hearts. Now we catch it and add a little meaning to the absurd world.

Brushfire Records
首支主打曲在Folk领域中混搭爵士味觉的“Bitter Heart”,令人想起多项格莱美奖加冕的Norah Jones相同质感;接下来散发淡淡闲适乡村音韵的“Honey Bee”;利用夏威夷四弦琴弹奏、带来新纽奥良Swing Jazz风味的“Just You And Me”以及“Kantoi”;让人回忆起Peggy Lee/佩姬李“Is That All There Is”的“Is This The End”;美国热门影集「私家医情」第二季结局配乐“Monte”;翻唱80年代英国首席乐团The Smiths主唱Morrissey /莫里西歌曲、唱出爽朗Acoustic的“First Of The Gang To Die”…

Domino Records (Goodtogo)
There are few voices more deeply embedded in the iconography and mythology of American indie rock than that of Chan Marshall. Under the musical nom de plume of Cat Power, Marshall has released music for nearly 25 years now and her prowess as a songwriter, a producer, and most notably—as a voice—has only grown more influential with time. Wanderer, Cat Power’s stunning 10th studio album, marks a pivotal moment in both Chan Marshall’s life and her career. In the six years since the release of 2012’s Sun, Marshall has travelled the world, given birth to a child, and parted ways with her previous record label. Even though it was, in many ways, a period of profound upheaval and radical change, those experiences resulted in a record that is arguably the most assured artistic statement of her career. Produced by Marshall and mixed by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck), the album includes appearances by longtime friends and compatriots, as well as guest vocals courtesy of friend and recent tourmate Lana Del Rey. Wanderer is, in many ways, a quintessential Cat Power record, with Marshall’s clarion voice front and center in a set of songs that remarkably stark and straightforward. But, if old Cat Power records might easily have been viewed as repositories for pain, Wanderer is, at its heart, a testament to the transformative nature of songs, an album-length imagining of alternate paths, redemptions, connections, and open-ended possibility.

Hi,
We could do the usual record company “bio” about this new record, but, seriously… who gives a fuck.
The world is a mess. This is just music. Music by someone who tends to believe that change starts in your own backyard. I’m just optimistic enough to believe that kind of thing can still help people.
It doesn’t have any answers, other than maybe that there is no answer, the dust never settles, everything is out of control, etc. But it offers this: you can make changes. Thus, you can change the world. Right?
Maybe if there’s anything we have any true control over, it’s how we see things. There’s a song about that here. The “our” of “In Our Cathedral” is the collective “our” — all of us. Your point of view. As the great Roger Miller once said, “You can't roller skate in a buffalo herd, but you can be happy if you've a mind to.” He said it better than I did.
The other thing we can do while everything’s such a mess is just try to be kind. Why not? We all have bad days, but why not put in the effort whenever possible? Nobody has it easy, however their story may appear from a distance. So why not try to be nice? Starting with yourself. That’s a nice change for the world right there. Good things will grow out of that. There are some songs along those lines here as well.
I’ve been through some stuff, but I’m no expert. I’m trying to dead reckon my way same as anyone. I’m really just talking to myself here, looking for what’s really there under all the defenses. But maybe it could help you too?
Or: Fuck all this jibber jabber and see if you like this new record.
Here are 15 new EELS tracks that may or may not inspire, rock, or not rock you. The world is going nuts. But if you look for it, there is still great beauty to be found. Sometimes you don’t even have to look for it. Other times you have to try to make it yourself. And then there are times you have to tear something apart to find something beautiful inside.
Best wishes on future endeavors,
E
