The culmination of a 20-year journey and his most personal project yet.
Bach's monumental Goldberg Variations stand alone in the piano literature as a work of unique artistry and brilliance. Lang Lang first began exploring this masterpiece more than 20 years ago and presents this record as the outcome of a long personal and emotional journey. Marking a new stage in Lang Lang's artistic development, it is the project of a lifetime.
“I’m now 38 and, while that’s not old, I think the time was right for a new stage in my artistic development,” comments Lang Lang. “I’ve moved into new terrain with the Goldberg Variations and really immersed myself fully in this project. My goal as an artist is to keep becoming more self-aware and more knowledgeable, as well as to keep offering inspiration to others. It’s an ongoing process, but this project has taken me a little further along the path.” Lang Lang

One of the greatest Beethoven Piano Concerto cycles of recent times, from Abbado and fellow countryman Maurizio Pollini, returns to the catalogue at an attractive price (3-for-2). A brand-new recording of Beethoven's Triple Concerto fills out the package, with Maestro Abbado conducting the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela (about whom Abbado has said, "[This] young orchestra's devotion to music [has] deeply impressed me.") and a dynamic trio of soloists.

Legendary Polish pianist Krystian Zimerman in his first solo album for DG for over twenty-five years.
Revelatory readings of Piano Sonatas D959 & D960, Schubert’s last major compositions for the piano before his death aged thirty-one. Recorded at the Kashiwazaki City Performing Arts Centre in Japan in January 2016.
Krystian performed these last two eternal masterworks intensely over the last few years to highest critical acclaim. This album is set to take its place among the great Schubert recordings.
