The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band founded in 1977. Led by singer Richard Butler and his brother Tim on bass guitar, the Psychedelic Furs are one of the many acts spawned from the British post-punk scene. Their music went through several phases, from an initially austere art rock sound, later touching on new wave and hard rock. They scored several hits in their early career, but were launched to international attention in 1986 when the film director John Hughes borrowed their song title “Pretty in Pink” for his movie of the same name. A newly recorded version of the song became the Psychedlic Furs’ biggest hit to that time. “Heartbreak Beat”, from their 1987 album Midnight to Midnight, was to be the Furs’ biggest Top 40 entry in the US. The Psychedelic Furs went on hiatus in 1991, and the Butler brothers formed a new band called Love Spit Love. The Psychedelic Furs later regrouped in 2001 and continue to perform around the world.

Out of print in the U.S.! The Cure's UK debut album, Three Imaginary Boys, was repackaged for other countries by removing album tracks and replacing them with non-album A-sides, resequencing the track order, adding new artwork and renaming the album Boys Don't Cry. For all intents and purposes, this was a much stronger album than the original UK release and continues to be a favorite amongst fans. 12 tracks including 'Jumping Someone Else's Train', 'Killing An Arab', 'Fire In Cairo', 'Plastic Passion' and the title track. They've never sounded as excited since!

Magazine's music continues to be an influence in modern music today. While having roots in the punk and new-wave movements, Magazine combined elements of avant-garde and pop. Radiohead in particular draws on the lyrical style of the group, and have performed "Shot By Both Sides" in concert. What's more, Radiohead's 1995 single "Just", with its ascending guitar hook, bears a passing resemblance to "Shot By Both Sides". Former Smiths singer Morrissey, a fan and acquaintance of Devoto's, covered "A Song From Under The Floorboards" as a B-side to his 2006 single "The Youngest Was the Most Loved". "Floorboards" was covered by My Friend The Chocolate Cake on their 1994 album Brood. Half Man Half Biscuit have performed live covers of a number of Magazine songs. "The Light Pours Out Of Me", from the album Real Life, has been covered by both Peter Murphy and Ministry. Swedish punk band No Fun At All did a cover of "Shot By Both Sides" on their record "And Now For Something Completely Different". Devoto co-wrote two songs with Mansun, "Everyone Must Win" and "Railings", contributing vocals to the latter, and the band later covered "Shot By Both Sides" for John Peel.

由歌手陈曦、低音结他手李维思以及结他兼键琴手李青（她也是Carsick Cars 的团员） 所组成的Snapline，他们为当年发起No Beijing乐潮的四支乐团之一。外界把他们概括为一支Post-Punk乐伍，聆听其《Party Is Over，Pornostar》专辑时，总不难寻见师承自Joy Division、P.I.L.、The Cure的音乐熏陶而来，加上他们的歌曲又是全英语主唱，Snapline身上的英伦Post-Punk甚至是Art Punk底蕴之浓烈，乃毋庸置疑。
陈曦的主唱渗着冷冷而内敛的情感，演绎出一份后崩乐队的冷酷；利瓦伊思指上所游走出是典型不过的Post-Punk式Bassline；而李青的吉他弹奏时而扑朔迷离、时而却又筑起Noisenik的音墙。然而一行三人的他们并没有鼓击手，所以Snapline是那种“鼓机结他乐队”。从鼓机输出直击心房的电气化节拍驰骋，也成为了他们在音乐上的特质，甚至由于歌曲节拍的跳脱，故令到其音乐也可以纳入所谓Dance-Punk之类别。
为《Party Is Over，Pornostar》揭开序幕的是“Close Your Cold Eyes”，那宛如糅合了The Cure般由结他勾勒出的迷离氛围与Joy Division的紧凑节奏。然而紧接而来的“Holy Comments”却是由Industrial结他Riff驱动的工业摇滚曲目，陈曦的歌声却来得好比John Lydon般狂放不羁兼且神经质，是足以令人着魔的狂舞乱调。而“Catch You Low”则让急疾的鼓机节拍与连绵的后崩式Bassline丝丝入扣而来，为歌曲提供了一股低调的张力。
Snapline在这张专辑里所构成，是一段分崩离析的音乐里程。“Porno Star”叫人沉溺在其低回、缓慢、混沌而Dubby的曲式，凝聚着一份苍白的无力感，而且李青却在稍后为歌曲绽放出排山倒海而来的结他噪音独奏，相当之慑人心魄。另一方面，追女仔歌曲“Jenny”以及相当跳脱的“S#1”，是不折不扣的Dance -Punk之作；而“Let In”乘着4/4 Upbeat的节拍而来，配上迷离的结他弹奏，感觉可谓跟P.I.L. 的“Death Disco”来得同出一彻。“Single Beat”那简约的Post-Punk / New Wave曲风，又大可联想到Wire呢。要急激的Post-Punk攻略，“Yellow Cab“是他们最狂野的一刻。
外界好像暂时没有人为Snapline扣上Gothic的标签，然而李青一手扑朔迷离的吉他勾线，却不时为他们的歌曲扫上一片Gothic的幽悒色调。所以“S#2”足以跟那群Post-Punk / Gothic元老乐队的快板歌曲作相提并论；缓慢阴郁的Gothic曲目除了上述的“Porno Star”之外，那还有曲如其名地叫人听得眩晕迷幻的“Spinning”吧。

Limited two CD edition of the 2008 compilation from the Manchester Post-Punk legends featuring a bonus disc that includes eight tracks recorded at two separate Peel Sessions in 1979. The main CD features 14 of their best tracks including the seminal 'Love Will Tear Us Apart', 'She's Lost Control' and 'Transmission'. Joy Division were formed in the wake of the Punk explosion in England and by 1980 they were the hottest band in the UK. In May of 1980, on the eve of their first US tour, lead singer Ian Curtis committed suicide.
