Thinking about the upcoming movie adaptation of The Fault In Our stars makes our hearts skip a million beats, and also sends us into an early hysterical breakdown at the same time - not sure we’re quite ready for all the feels and there's probably not enough tissues in the world for us all.
And what could possibly make the whole amazing story of Hazel and Gus even more emotional and heartwrenching? How about a ridiculously beautiful piano track from Birdy for the soundtack? Yup, that’ll do the trick.
Earlier this week, Birdy revealed that she’d be making a musical appearance on TFIOS, along with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Tom Oddell and Jake Bugg. While the whole soundtrack is available to pre-order on iTunes, one of Birdy’s songs is already available for your earholes to inhale. Hooray.
Her track ‘Not About Angels’ is a ridiculously beautiful and almost haunting mix of simple piano and vocals. We’ve already cried actual tears just listening to the song on YouTube, so lord help us when it’s played alongside the ruddy story.
And LOOK, a new still of Hazel, taken from the movie to go with it. We’re slightly wet faced.
If you fancy a good cry, here’s a couple of the lyrics for you: “We know full well there’s just time, so is it wrong to toss this line? If your heart was full of love, could you give it up? ‘Cause what about angels, they will come, they will go, make us special. Don’t give me up...”

Fire Within is the second album from British singer/songwriter Birdy. The album sees Birdy come to the forefront as a songwriter in her own right, having written/co-written all of the 11 tracks on the new album. Collaborating with some of the biggest names in the business including Ryan Tedder (Beyonce), Dan Wilson (co-wrote and produced "Someone Like You" for Adele), Rich Costey (Muse, Arctic Monkeys, Sigur Ros) and Ben Lovett from Mumford & Sons, whom she’s collaborated with in the past. She’s also worked with musicians including Rage Against the Machine bass player Timmy C and Paul Jackson Jnr and Omar Hakim (Daft Punk's band on their album Random Access Memories).
