Doggystyle is the debut studio album from American rapper Snoop Dogg, then known as Snoop Doggy Dogg, released by Death Row Records on November 23, 1993. The album was recorded soon following the release of Dr. Dre's landmark debut album The Chronic (1992), to which Snoop Dogg contributed significantly. The style he developed for Dre's album was continued on Doggystyle.[1] Critics have praised Snoop Dogg for the lyrical "realism" he delivers on the album and for his distinctive vocal flow.[1][2]
Despite some mixed criticism of the album initially upon its release, Doggystyle has earned recognition from many music critics as one of the most significant albums of the 1990s, as well as one of the most important hip hop albums ever released.[3] Much like The Chronic, the distinctive sounds of Doggystyle helped introduce the hip hop style of G-funk to a mainstream audience, bringing forward West Coast hip hop as a dominant force in the early 1990s.[1][4] As of 2008, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) has certified Doggystyle quadruple platinum in sales, and it serves as Snoop Dogg's highest-selling album.
Doggystyle debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart, and sold 802,858 copies in its first week alone, which was the record for a debuting artist and the fastest-selling hip hop album ever until Eminem's The Marshall Mathers LP in 2000. Doggystyle is included in The Source magazine's list of the 100 Best Rap Albums, as well as Rolling Stone magazine's list of Essential Recordings of the 90s.[3] About.com placed the album in number 19 of the greatest hip hop/rap albums of all time.[5]

187 Fac was a gangsta rap duo from Hayward, California, made up of rappers Den Fen and G-Nut. Their debut studio album, “Fac Not Fiction” was released in 1997 by Penalty Recordings and executive produced by Spice 1. The album artwork was designed by Phunky Phat Graph-X.

Warren G formed 213 in the nineties with Nate Dogg and Snoop Dogg, later he introduced the members of the group to Dr. Dre, his stepbrother. 213 then pursued solo careers and Warren G was involved with Dr. Dre's The Chronic album.
Warren G's debut album Regulate is considered to be one of the best hip hop albums ever made and contained classics like Regulate which got him nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best Rap Performance By A Duo Or Group category.
He followed up Regulate with the albums Take A Look Over Your Shoulder, I Want It All, The Return Of The Regulator, The Hard Way, In The Mid-Nite Hour and he has now returned for his current album due for release on 28th October 2008, The G Files.

True Game is the debut album by the rapper Mad CJ Mac from South Central Los Angeles, California. The album was released in 1995 for Rap-A-Lot Records and was distributed by Noo Trybe Records. The beats were produced by CJ Mac and MAD.
Along with singles, music videos were released for the tracks “Come And Take A Ride” featuring Poppa LQ, and “Powda Puff”.

This Dayton, OH, band came to typify swinging, effervescent, and melodic funk in an era when Parliament, Funkadelic, and other outfits were getting bogged down and burned out. Zapp, unlike the other P-Funk units, had their own personality divorced from George Clinton, so much so a listener might not get the connection unless they read the album notes. While both Zapp and Roger had enough hits to make separate greatest hits compilations, All the Greatest Hits works well due to the song inclusions and the level of skill. Zapp's first hit, "More Bounce to the Ounce" with it's hard-hitting funk with jazzy underpinnings, set the template. Tracks from Roger Troutman's solo debut, like the great "Do It Roger" and a cover of "Heard It Through the Grapevine," seemed to sap the strength from the Zapp name, although the band was on them too. Zapp's 1983 near-classic "Heartbreaker 1 and 2" still amazes with its minimal, lean sound. The synth-based sound also served Troutman well on the mid-'80s solo hit "In the Mix" and Zapp's ballad "Computer Love." As the Zapp never did regain its commercial footing by the late '80s, Roger fared better solo and turned in the romantic ballad and surprise hit "I Wanna Be Your Man." All The Great Hits diminishes its appeal by adding disposable tracks like "Curiosity '93 (Remix)" and the live "Midnight Hour-Live '93 (Remix)." While the hits are indeed here, a fan could just as easily obtain a 1980-84 album of Zapp or Roger to get a better sense of the importance of the music.

Tucole (born S. Warren) is a gangsta rap artist from Oakland, California. His debut album, “Deeper Than You Think” was released in 1995 by Strictly Urban Recordings. All songs were produced by Emanuel Lacy for Straight Lace Productions.

Sin City，我想大多数朋友都明白这个词组的意思，罪恶之城，在这个世界中，美国的犯罪率一直持高不下是众所皆知的，那么美国最危险的地方又是哪里呢？答案是南部的新奥尔良，和NWA的老家Compton，不过除了这些地方，还有一个城市在近些年来全美统计的犯罪率中一直排入前五，2009年甚至上升到了第三名，这就是美国西部的城市奥克兰。
虽然G-Funk的形势是一年不如一年，但是奥克兰的犯罪率倒是一年比一年高（即使这里的警察越来越多），最主要的原因就是这里居住了众多民族的人种，白人，亚裔，墨西哥裔，而犯罪最严重的，就是占着奥克兰总人口三分之一的黑人，而且奥克兰的罪案一般都发生在黑人的街区中，也叫做“black-on-black”，通俗点说就是黑人对黑人进行犯罪（武当的分支G.P. Wu还有一首名为Black On Black Crime的歌曲）。
扯的有点远了，言归正传，今天向大家推荐的专辑就是来自奥克兰的匪帮说唱团体Side 2 Syde于1997年发行的专辑Sky Ballin'，团体由两名成员组成，分别是Big Thump和Kammurda，虽然这张专辑发行于1997年，但是在95年，凭借着由奥克兰说唱的元老级人物Richie Rich客串的专辑同名单曲，团体已经在小范围内慢慢开始积攒人气，两年后，Side 2 Syde的首张，也是目前为止唯一一张专辑诞生了，187 Fac和Luniz的成员，还有奥克兰各路Gansta Rapper都出现在了这张专辑中。

我想大多数人看到这张专辑的封面，都会犹豫一下自己要不要听，因为这张专辑的封面实在是没什么美感可言（至少我是这么认为），一位面部狰狞，赤膊的大哥咧着嘴对着镜头，猜也能猜出来这位仁兄来自南部，没错，Ganksta C来自德克萨斯州，达拉斯，虽然他的名气不是很大，但是他的哥哥确是个“大腕”，他就是Ron C，和Ron C一样，Ganksta C也在西海岸住过一段日子，所以这张专辑深受G-Funk影响，Stepchild的内容并不像我第一次看见封面时想象的那么糟：粗制滥造的Beat，蹩脚的Flow，恰恰相反，这张专辑的精彩程度远远的超出了我的想象，虽然专辑中几个制作人都算得上是名不见经传，但是他们却奉献给了听众10个非常精彩的Beat，而Ganksta C也不是我想象的那样在专辑中扯着脖子乱叫，而是用非常Smooth的Flow对听众娓娓道来，总体上，Stepchild绝对称得上是一张南部90年代经典G-Funk专辑。
虽然在Stepchild之前，Ganksta C已经发行过了一张专辑，说是专辑，可是只有磁带的形式，只有几首歌，而且发行量也小的可怜，建议大家就不用再去找了，倒是去年，在时隔14年之后，他发行了一张名为Hip-Hop的专辑，不过这张专辑我还没有听，感兴趣的朋友可以去找找看，但是最好不要对今时今日的西海岸匪帮说唱报以太大的期望
