architect is a hybrid of minimalistic drum'n bass and smooth ambient soundscapes explored by the electronic mastermind daniel meyer.
like a architect who built up his constructions in different layers and channels, also daniel is working with this method by using only sampling tools. he's constructing abstract sonic buildings which seems to be peculiar transparent - like concrete frames without any surfaces in a pleasant familiarity. the cold polyrhythmic drumcodes are bet into a melted ambience of safety and grace. it's the warm timbre of this ambient drum'n bass recording which creates it's own unique sonic profile.
each track on this album was recorded separately in very concentrated periods of creativity and collected since the last 3 years. architect's galactic supermarket is surly a perfect soundtrack for observing the space during the night...
daniel meyer's musical activities begun about 7 years ago with the electro-industrial project haujobb. since the last years daniel became addicted to drum 'n bass, which opened him new views of sonic expressions. this unavoidable important influence allowed him to extend his perception of electronic music to create new dimensions.
daniel started several new projects to present his different faces. together with dejan samardcic he's very active with the project dot's and dashes (on funktion & form, rtd) and haujobb. the project cleen is a collaboration with thorsten meier, n.e.w.t (on flatline records) is created with andreas meyer (forma tadre) and the other projects architect, mayr, s'apex are soloprojects of daniel. although there is always a unique common point of all his projects, each of them explores it's own imaginary universe in it's strongest way.

Wardown is not so much a musical album as a diary of smeared memory; an account of physical, temporal, familial, musical and sentimental dislocation.
Created by Technimatic’s Pete Rogers, the self-titled Wardown project uses his childhood home of Luton as a psychological fulcrum upon which he balances feelings of loss and yearning for the town, for now-passed family members and for the music of his youth which inextricably bound these things together.

Embodying an ephemeral union with his Lutonian roots, the LP consists of mixtape cuts recorded from his teens, recordings of deceased family, clips from forgotten documentaries about Bedfordshire's rich free party heritage, recordings of brass bands and field recordings of the town-centre. The result is relentlessly beautiful, unashamedly personal and haunted with melancholy.

Self-consciously littered with these recordings and other, deliberately familiar, samples, it would be easy to categorise Wardown as 'Jungle' in the flavour of early Good Looking / Lucky Spin / DeeJay Recs, but this would be to misunderstand the execution. Wardown is a resolutely modernist project, using these samples as memorial touchpoints through which independent narrative voices are introduced to the fabric of the work, layering a hazy, cinematic quality over the already beautifully evocative music.
Wardown is an attempt to capture what the Germans call 'sehnsucht', an "inconsolable longing in the heart for we know not what". Despite a profound sadness hanging over the album it delivers a collection of exquisitely elegant pieces that explore the complexities of physical, emotional and psychological drift.

Major label debut for Talkin' Loud by British drum'n'bass duo Marc & Dego, the same pair responsible for groundbreaking releases under the aliases Tek 9, Nu Era, Tom& Jerry and Jacob's Optical Stairway, as well as material ontheir own label Reinforced. Ludvig Cimbrelius is an artist of many expressions. Whilst all are deeply rooted in a spiritual and ethereal sound, his most majestic output has arguably come to life through the Illuvia alias. After capping off a debut, self-titled album in 2017 with an atmospheric Drum and Bass track, it quickly sparked a two-year conversation between Ludvig and A Strangely Isolated Place to pursue a full record in this style.
Focusing on the far reaches of both the Ambient and Drum and Bass spectrums, Iridescence Of Clouds, combines the two extremities. Soaring, euphoric Ambient textures overlay distant echoes of driving Drum and Bass, before subtly transitioning to drums at the forefront, once again.
Typically atmospheric Drum and Bass song structures become blurred, as half-step kick patterns sit amongst more recognizable Amen breaks; or reverb-heavy drums; often echoing the worlds of Ludvig’s other aliases - his fingerprint instantly recognizable. The expected breakdowns are often ephemeral; teased slowly into existence and then faded into the background as each track weaves in and out of the two musical spectrums and the progressive emotion of the album unfolds at a glorious, soaring pace.

Following a run of four incendiary 12-inches on his own imprint that drew attention from right across the dance music community, UK producer and DJ Paul Woolford delivers Soul Music, his debut full-length album as Special Request - diving even deeper into the raw energy of UK pirate radio influences that informed his previous EPs.
Using a studio built almost exclusively from vintage hardware and boosted by industrial-strength EQ and an FM transmitter, Woolford constructs what he refers to as "false memories" - broadcasting his material in order to sample and re-incorporate it in a myriad of different ways. The outcome of this unorthodox method is an album of considerable weight.
This debut will be released in two stages: 7th October sees the album released on a triple vinyl LP; whilst the CD and digital versions, released on 21st October, include a bonus volume featuring the Special Request VIP of Tessela's 'Hackney Parrot' alongside the remix of Lana Del Rey's 'Ride', further tracks from the previous 12-inches, plus unreleased reworks from Detroit's Anthony Shakir, New York's Anthony Naples, Leipzig's Kassem Mosse & Mix Mup, Chicago's Hieroglyphic Being and London's Lee Gamble.
