角色每一次「透過講話」而呈現的行動，都應該將場戲往下一拍（beat）推進。
對白有多重要？
不論戲劇的製作再怎麼豪華、小說的描寫再怎麼生動、電影的鏡頭再怎麼絢麗，
角色一開口講話，就決定了在故事底層湧動的糾葛、嘲諷和內蘊。
沒有意味深長的對白，事件就少了深度，角色就沒有厚度，故事也就塌陷下去。
對白撐起了故事。
▉檢驗你的對白 Part 1
對白要發揮效力，必須滿足以下六大任務。你寫的對白做到了嗎？
1. 角色只要開口講話，就有內在行動。
2. 每一拍的行動（反應）都會強化該場戲，以轉捩點為軸心，不斷蓄積劇情的能量。
3. 台詞裡的陳述和影射，都具有講解角色或故事背景的功能。
4. 每一角色各有其語言格調。
5. 一拍、一拍往前流洩的氣勢牢牢抓住觀眾（讀者），讓他們被敘述的浪頭帶著走，渾然忘了時間。
6. 對白的語言聽在觀眾（讀者）耳裡、放在演出的背景中都恰如其份，也符合角色的性格，讓觀眾（讀者）深陷在故事的邏輯與世界中，信以為真。
寫好對白沒有公式
卻有一套「吸引力法則」：
打造內容層次的「冰山」
＋ 探索形式的極限 ＋ 令觀者「通靈」的表達技巧
對白的內容應該具有三種層次，決定你的人物厚度：
●已說：角色選擇講給人聽的心思和感情。（露出海平面的冰山）
●未說：角色內心只對自己說的心思和感情。（海平面下若隱若現的冰層）
●不可說：潛意識裡的驅動和欲求，角色說不出口，連對自己悄悄私語也做不到，因為這是沉默無聲、覺察不到的。（海面下深不可知的龐大冰層）
形式不會限制創作，反而會激發表達力：
●電影、電視、舞台、小說四大媒介形式，對白應有什麼不同？
電影劇本是影像重於聲音，舞台劇是聲音重於影像；電視劇介於劇場和電影之間，要求聲音、影像二者間的平衡；小說則是靠腦力，走的是迂迴的路線，必須取道讀者的心智。
●不論哪一種媒介形式，對白都必須具備三種基本功能：
1. 講解：指明故事的背景、歷史、角色等，供觀眾（讀者）在某個當下吸收消化，以便跟上情節與入戲。【同場加映】「以講解為彈藥」：《星際大戰：帝國大反擊》在劇情最高潮處，黑武士引爆了「路克是他兒子」這顆炸彈，震撼了全世界觀眾，觸發對續集的熱切期待。
2. 角色塑造：從表相、真相這兩面來設計角色，創造出人物的本性，從而勾起觀眾（讀者）的興趣、賦予角色個性，最後取信於觀眾（讀者）。
3. 行動：對白所展現的「口語行動」、角色在台詞背後所做之事，必須符合角色的性格，才能說服、打動觀眾（讀者）。
高明的作者都懂得將「講解」化整為零，一點一點地釋放，只在觀眾（讀者）必須知道也想要知道的最適當時機透露訊息，半刻也不會提早，而且只給最少量，緊緊抓住觀眾（讀者）的好奇心、對角色的同理心，再加上深入人性的角色刻劃、有潛文本可以挖掘的口語行動，你的故事已經立於不敗之地。
懂得運用表達技巧的好對白，能讓觀眾（讀者）有如會通靈一般，
將未形諸言語的角色內心與觀眾（讀者）內心串連起來：
●鑽研遣辭用字，打造獨創的對白：運用各種文學比喻手法，精煉出漂亮的台詞、具可信度的對白，又能帶出引申意涵，跟角色沒說出來、不能說出來的潛文本共鳴共振。
●掌握各種台詞句式的優缺點，適時變化運用：包括將核心字詞往後推的懸疑句（戲劇性最大），或是核心字詞在前、像滾雪球一樣漸次推展的累進句（最自然，接近口語對話），或是把重點放在句子中間的平衡句，甚至同時並用不同句式的混合句——有意識地決定重點字詞的位置，牽動觀眾（讀者）的心。
●善用周邊語言：諸如臉部表情、手勢、姿態、語速、音量、節奏、音調等，甚至角色站位的距離，都可以用來強化對白的意義和感覺。
●非必要的句子就刪去：意味深長又精簡，才是好對白。
●掌握停頓的機鋒：對白中的所有停頓都要付出代價，因此一定要有效果才停頓。
●沉默無語也是一種語言：這是最極致的精簡。用說的不如用演的。
用戲劇來說故事，重點不在於作者如何遣辭用字，而是作者進入角色後，讓角色在人生路上掙扎前行時如何遣辭用字。舉凡句法、措辭、步調等語言的組成單位，都是對白的生命線，但最能清楚勾勒角色生命與個性的，就屬角色選用的字詞（已說與未說），因為它們才能直指角色的內心，並引導觀眾（讀者）深入解讀潛文本（不可說）。

以下的對白寫作方法，你用過哪幾種？
1. 用角色之間的閒聊，向觀眾（讀者）交代故事的設定或背景。
2. 把角色設定的功課做到最足，不只個性、經歷與身份，也包括其內心所有創傷、弱點、潛意識活動，並透過對白展露無疑，讓角色充滿人性色彩。
3. 常見用語和說法，是現實生活中確實在使用的語言，可以增添對白的真實況味，也可以讓觀眾（讀者）馬上理解，避免造成誤解。
4. 婉轉迂迴的對白不只展現作者的程度和用心，也可以讓觀眾（讀者）細細品味。
5. 把潛文本化為文本，以免觀眾（讀者）遺漏任何角色心裡流轉的念頭、情感波動。
6. 讓兩個角色針鋒相對，把問題直接攤開來說個清楚，將情緒推到最高，製造出戲劇的張力與高潮。
7. 現實中說話就是會囉唆，重複也可以是強調。寫實主義的對白不該回避真實的說話方式。
8. 對白應該盡早破題、說出重點，以免觀眾失去耐性、出戲，甚至猜出角色後面要說的話。
這樣的對白寫作，你知道有可能犯了諸如「內容空洞」、「陳腔濫調」、「淺白露骨」、「時機不對」等各式各樣常見的毛病，分別具有可信度、語言、內容、結構上的瑕疵嗎？
角色，終究要在自身裡尋找，
對白，要往自己的想像挖掘。
培養創意寫作所需的兩種創造力：講故事的才氣 + 文學表現的才氣
1. 講故事的才氣在於能將日常生活轉化為有深意、感動人的事情與角色，繼而將作品的內部構想（出了什麼事、被誰遇上了）雕琢為人生的比喻。
2. 文學的才氣在於將日常生活的言語，轉化成為意味深長的對白。
寫出角色專屬的對白
◆頂尖作家怎麼運用「冰山技巧」？
推展故事情節時，將大量內容劃歸為不說出來的心思、感覺、欲求、活動，壓進場景的潛文本，不見天日；開始說故事時，便以其為本創作台詞，作為角色行為的冰山一角。
◆為什麼信手拈來的對白反而不好？什麼是「創作的極限法則」？
技巧愈難，招式就愈漂亮。信手拈來一揮而就，寫出來的角色個個聽起來都像同一個模子印出來的。有束縛、紀律、限制，激發出來的創意才教人驚艷。搜索枯腸，就是要將想像力從極限挖出來的意象清晰立體地勾畫出來。
全書結構
第一部：對白的奧妙
大幅擴張對白的定義，擴增更多的寫法，並深入剖析角色在說故事的四大媒介中開口說話的功能、內容、形式、技巧。
第二部：診斷你的對白
一一點名對白最常見的毛病，從無法說服觀眾，到陳腔濫調、鋪張賣弄、枯燥無味、意義模糊、嘮叨反覆、提示失準等，一一挖掘出病灶再開立藥方，並引用眾多小說、戲劇、電影、電視劇作品為範例，闡述琢磨對白的種種技巧。
第三部：如何寫作對白
檢視作家如何踢進「臨門一腳」：找到最適當的字眼，為角色寫出恰如其份的對白。角色說話應該各有其句法、節奏和聲調，以及最重要的用字等特點，某一角色嘴裡吐出來的話，非這角色講不出來。寫對白最理想的境界是每個角色活脫有如長了腳的字典，收錄這個角色專用的字詞。
第四部：如何設計對白
先討論故事的組成和場景的設計，以及它們如何決定角色說出怎樣的台詞。再以六部作品為例，深入探討以下兩大決定對白效力的原則：一、對白在一來一往間製造出「行動／反應」，進而推動場景發展；二、「行動」雖是從「說話」這種外在行為表現出來，角色行動的泉源卻是由潛文本悄無聲息流洩出來。

“粤厨宝典”系列丛书于2006年首次发行，市场反响良好，不断重印。鉴于读者群的不断扩大，原来只为粤菜厨师阅读已满足不了实际需求，在广大厨师和读者的热盼鼓励下，作者对原来的版本进行了全面细致修订，务求用更通俗的语言让广大读者深入理解粤菜文化以及烹饪技艺的精髓。作者潘英俊为资深粤菜名师，曾获香港“美食天王”、镛记酒家第二代传人甘建成指点，对粤菜烹饪制作有着精深的研究。多年来，作者致力于烹饪培训工作，主办“俊厨房”粤菜烹饪技艺大赛及饮食文化推广，在业界颇具名气和口碑。“厨园篇”是该系列丛书的其中一本，作者花了一年多的时间，将十多年来在其脑海酝酿的烹饪技法的来龙去脉、历史沿革、技法要领都付诸文字。本篇的技法烹饪完全是站在粤菜烹饪的角度去搜集和编写，分为水烹、火烹、汽烹、油烹和气烹共5个章节。全书图文并茂，并有作者大量的原创手绘图，内容趣味横生，书中绝非仅是单纯讲述菜式的制作，而是既有古今菜式的延续，又有南北之作的对照，而且还把烹饪的关键逐一归纳及对比，有些部分更是历来秘而不宣的配方。编辑在书稿的剪辑加工过程中，发现存在了不少问题，现归纳总结如下：1.因为作者是广东人，因此在写书的过程中有很多口语化的表述，为了方便读者理解，也为了全书统一，编辑均在表述后面加了相关的注解。现列举几例：老饕，即贪吃的人；枧水，即碳酸钾；打边炉，即吃火锅；伶仃，即单独；口，即不嫩滑；骟鸡，即阉过的公鸡；，即软；，即宰；山旮旯，即偏远、落后、待开发的大山大岭或农村。2.个别词语使用不正确。列举如下：抗战胜利，改为“抗日战争胜利”；建国初期，改为“新中国成立初期”；涵义，改为“含义”；江瑶柱，“瑶”改为“珧”；正式染指酒楼的业务，“染指”是贬义词，改为“涉足”；1980年代，改是“20世纪80年代”；2000年代，改为“21世纪”；鱼茸、蒜茸、豆茸，“茸”改为“蓉”；要髓，改为“要领”；乾坤大运转，“运转”改为“挪移”。“前人栽树后人摘果”，“摘果”改为“乘凉”；食物潴留的水分，“潴留”改为“保留”；利用酒作媒体腌制或烹饪食物的方法称为“醉”。这句话里，“媒体”改为“介质”。3.个别语句、词语表述啰嗦。现列举如下：“体温随之从升温转向降温”，改为“体温随之下降”。在接着以下的话题之前，得插上一句话。改为“在开始下一个话题之前，得补充一句。”这些热量暗地里还有一种看不见的动力，这种动力就是无坚不摧的热力。改为“这些热量实际上还有无坚不摧的热力。”既与美味无缘，自然就要偃旗息鼓地退出历史舞台。改为“既与美味无缘，自然就会在历史舞台上慢慢销声匿迹了。”摄氏度，改为“℃”；马上跻身成为，改为“成为”；按咬文嚼字的说法，改为“从字面意思来看”。4.书中使用了大量的手绘图，但是很多都没有图解，为了使读者看得更加明白直观，编辑已经让作者进行后期补充说明。5.书中除了菜式的图片，还有大量的手绘图，均为作者原创，全国独一无二，但图片的大小比例参差不齐，建议排版修改时根据各个页面情况进行适当调整。总体而言，本书稿整体质量较好，没有发现政治性、科学性和知识等方面的明显错误。它区别于图书市场上大量的菜谱食谱，是一本不可多得的既有实用性又有资料性的工具书。

In medieval and Renaissance Europe, mercenaries--professional soldiers who fought for money or other rewards--played violent, colorful, international roles in warfare, but they have received relatively little scholarly attention. In this book a large number of vignettes portray their activities in Western Europe over a period of nearly 900 years, from the Merovingian mercenaries of 752 through the Thirty Years' War, which ended in 1648. Intended as an introduction to the subject and drawing heavily on contemporary first-person accounts, the book creates a vivid but balanced mosaic of the many thousands of mercenaries who were hired to fight for various employers.
