Educated 豆瓣
8.7 (86 个评分) 作者: Tara Westover Random House 2018 - 2
Educated is an account of the struggle for self-invention. It is a tale of fierce family loyalty, and of the grief that comes from severing one’s closest ties. With the acute insight that distinguishes all great writers, Westover has crafted a universal coming-of-age story that gets to the heart of what an education is and what it offers: the perspective to see one’s life through new eyes, and the will to change it.

Tara的父母就算是在中国也够格在”父母皆祸害”组里占有一席之地,不让子女去公立学校,不信政府不信医生相信世界末日自己是天选之人,雪上加霜的是家里还有个暴力倾向严重的哥哥。囧之女神讲过意识到父母是混蛋是件挺痛苦的事情(大意),具体到Tara身上,她的前十七年生命牢牢和父母绑在一起,基本上没同学没朋友,父母兄姐构成全部世界,和家庭的联系紧密度远超普通人,然而从她开始”to see and experience more truths than those given to me by my father, and to use those truths to construct my own mind”, 就注定要和家庭或主动或被动的割裂,一直到结尾我觉得Tara还没完全从割裂痛苦中出来。
