Stereolab release the fifth in their ‘Switched On’ series of compilation albums, Pulse Of The Early Brain [Switched On Volume 5].
Simple Headphone Mind’ b/w ‘Trippin’ With The Birds’ was the second collaboration between Nurse With Wound and Stereolab. A 12” disk released on yellow vinyl [1000 copies] and black vinyl [4996 copies] The sleeve was made from a 'Mylar style’, aluminium coloured, material that was glued and sealed – each purchaser had to open the sleeve to discover which colour vinyl they had bought. The CDs were also released in a sealed sleeve. Originally released 28th April 1997 via Duophonic Super 45s. Catalogue numbers DS33-11 / DS45CD-11.

Daniel Avery's most ambitious and accomplished studio album to date, 'Ultra Truth', is out now on limited edition double white vinyl, CD and blue cassette.
'Ultra Truth' offers a very different listening experience to any of Daniel Avery’s previous records. It inhabits its own world of sound, a construct built in his Thames side studio with collaborative help from a host of friends: the production touch of Ghost Culture and Manni Dee, the vocals of HAAi, Jonnine Standish (HTRK), AK Paul and the voices of Marie Davidson, Kelly Lee Owens, Sherelle and James Massiah.
“Ultra Truth finds me in a different place to where I’ve been before. My previous albums have all focused on the idea of music being an escape or a distraction from the world but that’s not the case this time. For me this album is about looking directly into the darkness, not running away from it. There’s a way through these times but it involves keeping the important people in your life close to you and navigating the noise together. This is an intentionally heavy and dense album, the hooks often hidden in dusty corners. I’m no longer dealing in a misty-eyed euphoria. Ultra Truth is a distorted fever dream of a record: riled, determined and alive.”
In creating 'Ultra Truth', Daniel Avery went back to many of the things that had inspired him to first make music as a teenager - pensive, emotive records by Deftones, Portishead, Nick Cave or Mogwai, the exquisite darkness of David Lynch’s movies and - on tracks like Devotion and Higher - the thunderous energy of leftfield rave music.

My Story, The Buraku Story is a new feature-length documentary film that explores the discrimination against a group of people – commonly called “the burakumin” – who were classed into lowly groups and segregated from the rest of Japanese society. This discrimination is not by race or ethnicity, but rather by place of residence and bloodline, and has existed for centuries – albeit very rarely acknowledged or discussed in Japan. When director Yusaku Mitsuwaka imagined the exemplary score for such a culturally sensitive and significant subject, he idealized MONO to help tell this story through their legendarily cinematic music.
Following their recent experiments with electronic textures infused into their trademark dynamic rock compositions, My Story, The Buraku Story finds MONO at their most understated and elegiac. The songs that make up My Story, The Buraku Story are largely built around piano, strings, synths, and choral vocal loops. As one might expect from MONO, the arrangements are masterworks of understated execution with oversized emotional resonance. By far MONO’s most delicate album, it is a fitting document of the band’s first-ever full-length film soundtrack.

Milan Records will release a new score album for the AMC original series Better Call Saul. The album features selections of the original score from the show composed by Dave Porter (Breaking Bad, The Disaster Artist, The Blacklist, Preacher, Hightown, Flesh and Bone). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 13. Sony Classical has previously released a first score album featuring music from the first seasons in 2017, while Madison Gate Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring a selection of songs from the drama’s first season in 2015. The sixth and final season of Better Call Saul created by Vince Gilligan & Peter Gould and starring Bob Odenkirk premiered last month on AMC and AMC+ with new episodes dropping every Monday.

'Remember Rainbow Bridge’, the new album by Croatian Amor, is a homage to youth and the delicate metamorphosis that occurs as childhood trips into maturity. Focused on this tender flux, the songs on 'Remember Rainbow Bridge' are infused with the restless energy of adolescence and a dawning sense of mortality. From the sun-kissed title track, to the night burn and wet pavement of ‘Paper Birds’, monumental highs are shuffled with great lows that we perhaps feel most clearly and earnestly in those formative years.
Since the earliest collages committed to tape under the name of Croatian Amor, Loke Rahbek's alias has at every step gravitated towards constant discovery and experimentation. The sound collages are still present while the unity of each song's construction now often conceals the juxtapositions and overlapping edges. Employing a medley of diffuse electronic music traditions, fantastical synthetic worlds are evoked and while ‘Remember Rainbow Bridge’ heavily relies on rhythmic structures to propel the compositions, Croatian Amor continues to tend a highly textured field in his own inimitable way.
'Remember Rainbow Bridge' is a celebration of the liminal space between phases of life, the chrysalis of youth. It is a... record about coming to terms with our ever-changing place in the world, its title urging us to see the world with a child’s eye, to never forget the miraculous at play only an arm’s-length away.

「影乐志」首度以CD的形式，面向全球荣誉呈现作曲家Jóhann Jóhannsson、Jonas Colstrup与导演娄烨合作的《风中有朵雨做的云》电影原声音乐。影片将一段在中国广州发生的真实事件作为背景，引入了一段历经中国改革开放，横跨三十年的大时代悲剧。本片也是继《浮城谜事》、《推拿》之后娄烨与Jóhann Jóhannsson的第三次合作。全片的音乐是在《推拿》一段未曾完全使用的音乐《黑暗中行走》的基础上重新解构并全新发展而来，并最终形成了一次模糊了音乐与声音界限的工业化式篇章。
整张专辑的音乐素材在作曲家Jonas Colstrup的协助与监督下，以中国大陆公映时发行的黑胶唱片为基础被重新编辑、排序。Colstrup长期合作的录音师Thomas Eberger在瑞典为本张唱片进行了全新的混缩和母带制作。唱片的封面设计则是邀请Jóhann Jóhannsson长期合作的伙伴，来自丹麦的音乐家兼设计师Anders Ladegaard完成。
