It’s shaping up to be a huge week for Ally Brooke. The 27-year-old is releasing her memoir, Finding Your Harmony, tomorrow (October 13) and rolling out a second collaboration with Afrojack on Friday. The Dutch DJ announced the imminent arrival of “What Are We Waiting For?” on social media and fans were quick to point out that the Fifth Harmony singer has already performed the song on tour. From a live fan recording (see below), it sounds like Ms. Brooke is about to take us straight to the disco.
At this point, the budding solo star is something of a fixture on the club scene. In the last couple of years, she has recorded bangers with Topic, Matoma, Lost Kings, Florian Picasso and, of course, Afrojack. (They teamed up for “All Night” earlier this year). Given her prolific output since Fifth Harmony went on hiatus, it’s almost time for Ally to announce an EP or mixtape. She certainly has enough quality songs for one.

Daya explained how this album is different from her first, saying:
Before this album I felt like I had to fit my songs into some kind of a mold, but now I’m less worried about keeping everything in a particular structure. The process feels much more free-flowing now, where I’m just trying out different ideas and seeing where they lead me. Being in the studio every day and experimenting with new sounds has opened up all these parts of me that I didn’t even know were there.”

GRAMMY Award winning and multi-platinum artist Daya is teasing her forthcoming EP, sharing brand new electro-pop bop ‘Bad Girl’.
“To me, the lyric of ‘bad girl’ can be used in an almost ironic way to play out the ‘problem child’ or archetypal rebel, flipping the script so that a ‘bad girl’ can be anyone who is confident and asserts themselves boldly in the world and doesn’t necessarily have to adhere to the stereotypical bad girl ‘look,’” she explains. “But rather can appear anywhere on the binary from leather jackets & boots to red lips and dresses and pearls, in the case of the song’s music video.”
