  一九五四年十月一日,以法属阿尔及利亚首都阿尔及耳的卡斯巴为中心,爆发了阿尔及利亚人反抗运动。这是由于阿拉伯人憎恨法国人长期统治而引起的。人们四处搞破坏,法国政府发觉事态严重,便于一九五七年十月七日,派马丘将军率领四十万大军驻于斯拉姆地区,但是暴乱仍层出不穷,法国人的镇压行动已明显升级。阿里.拉波安原只是一个以扒窃为生的小偷,由于他的果敢和身体力行,而同时与宾米提成为阿尔及利亚独立运动的领导者。某日,阿里男扮女装上街,最终还是被发现,他们跟踪他并突袭了基地,阿里等被处死。但阿尔及利亚的人民斗争情绪越来越高涨,这股势力不容阻挡。本片是曾获威尼斯大奖的半纪录影片,完全利用当地民众所拍摄而成,因此,呈现于观众眼前的是一部忠于史实的独立战争影片。       本片是欧洲电影批判殖民主义的先驱典范之作。首先得正视其「第三世界电影」的胸襟:即替被殖民者压抑了的实存赋予音容、重塑形骸,以形式的翻新为手段。导演动用左翼普及美学策略,主角不再是个人而是人民,更以可跟纪录片乱真的影象语言,重演五四至六二年间阿尔及利亚反抗法国统治的活动,逐步升级为山洪般暴发的独立战争。最难得的是没有简单的美化/丑化任何一方,笔触冷静而不失立场。群潮流动的场面调度雄浑有劲,曾获威尼斯影展金狮奖。本片在法禁映多年,连在香港(因其反殖信息)也不例外。

好流暢,好乾淨。而且跟在歷史現場拍的似的。跟當前發生的事一模一樣,全程一模一樣,畢竟都是歐洲“文明”(白)人。連“文明”人驚詫於自己竟被罵作鈉粹、法錫斯都一樣。一牆之隔,你可以燈紅酒綠、載歌載舞,我卻可能因為被搜身的時候態度不好被投入監獄,然而你卻覺得只有你自己是無辜的?曬著自己在喀什古城裡穿了一套哈薩克服飾的照片說“我一定要去學維族舞……那邊很安全的,大家都快來玩啊”的無辜不無辜?
“你們究竟想要什麼?!” “獨立 尊嚴 自由!”

前面都挺好,舉重若輕,用很多詼諧幽默講出語言對民族和個體的意義。就是最後追逃的情節有點兒扯。觸動的點還挺多的。「不能就不要方言嗎?」「當然不行,方言也是朝鮮的語言和財富啊!」 當然不行啊,你覺得「方言」和官話誰是祖宗誰是孫子。雜誌社發出的徵集廣告還寫的是「收集各地區的語言」(字幕組翻譯告訴我的)。所以四川話就是一門語言,請勿用帝國殖民詞彙「方言」矮化。人家連國都沒有的就開始保護地方語言了,給全世界帶方向的卻在全力剿殺。「三十年了,朝鮮沒有希望獨立了」⋯七十五年又怎樣⋯真的就是真的,假的就是假的。童謠《반달》當有阿拉伯語版本。

[Stolen Land] 最後那段白人現場說書道出了這部電影的全部意義:這個悲慘的故事不過淪為了白人誇獎自己“自省態度”的素材罷了,遭殃的歐塞奇人連講述的權利都沒有。整個影片裡的歐塞奇人可以說是完全沒有主觀能動的,是配合揭露白人惡行、並且因其異域風情可以加強這種效果的劇情道具。白人一直在開動腦筋,展現各種“普通人”樣子,儘管是在做壞事,但歐塞奇人就是一直那樣呆呆的。連已經看透白人伎倆的老母親也就是那樣呆呆地,眼睜睜看著自己女兒們和族人被拖進泥沼。就跟中國文藝電影人拍個農村,“呆呆”是農村唯一的美學意義和道德價值等等似的。那麼好形象的女主結果完全拍成個養了小李這個老兒子的戀愛腦,明明該是組織族人集郵白人腦殼的主,卻可以被小李那張抽筋臉整的五迷三道的。還三個小時…跟綠皮書一樣:“看!我在懺悔啊!看我多用力!快來誇我有多進步!” 瞧把你能的,麻煩你把麥交還給受害者行不行?現在這些“鴻篇巨制”真是一個比一個難看。
