There's no dialogue in this movie because it doesn't need it. The visual do all the work. Every image is poetic and political. In this movie, we follow the resistants of a dictatorial regime through their effort of escaping it. In this case, an image equal thousand words. Flawless and important, a must see for every human being!

At the question "why there's no words in this movie?" Alain Cavalier said :"There's some moments in a lifetime, there's no need to talk" But, this is not a silent film. This is just about postures, and movements. Camera stay static to catch each little act as a resistance proof (Cuting a picture, making a bed, cleaning a glass...) Resistance to the oppression, resistance to film... We can think at "Pickpocket" of Bresson cause all is about acts. And when the camera stop on the glance of an actor(all of them where in social and financial difficulties. No famous actor in the movie) , without a word, it put you deep inside the tragedy of war. It's not only a movie about WW2, it's a movie about all the oppressions, helping the viewer to truly see and to have the courage to face them. A movie shot in studio, with almost no decoration set. Just what they gonna use ("Don't put a gun on stage if you're not going to use it" said a famous theater's author) Sadly, this movie, probably the most important of my life in a political and citizenship way, had never been released on VHS nor DVD.

In the beginning of the film, Angel is traveling with his friend Max on a ship to Honeyfield, a town on the coast of Australia. He is coming home to die. Instead, he dies on board the ship, willing his boots to Angel, and an unopened package to someone called "The Dead Man," in Honeyfield. Also on the ship is a man named Tatts, a far less pleasant personality. When Angel gets off to head into Honeyfield, Tatts decides to follow along unseen. The package, Angel was told, contains something its intended recipient has been looking for without knowing it. On finding the recipient, a mean-spirited old man who is more or less the boss and owner of the town, he learns that the package contains opium.

This is the second installment of a three-part series of autobiographical films about the director's life. The first, which won various awards for its maker, was entitled Zamri Oumi Voskresni and was later retitled Zari, Umri, Vokresni ("Freeze, Die, Come to Life!").
At the end of that film, set at the conclusion of World War II, the young Valerka was striving hard to overcome the inertia of just getting by, along with his sometime friend Galiya. In this one, he is adjusting to Galiya's death and is back in school and is living with his mother, a prostitute. After a girl at the school is found to have been gang-raped, the headmaster chooses Valerka to be one of the scapegoats, though he had nothing to do with the deed. The punishment seems mild enough, he was simply expelled from school. However, after quarrelling with his mother about the incident, he takes to the road, and discovers a society so bleak, degraded and hopeless that it is a wonder he remained alive. The film was entered into the 1992 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize.

After his father's death, a Parisian medical researcher returns to a region of Portugal to deal with part of the family legacy - a prosthesis factory owned by an old family friend. He finds the factory owner and his wife "possessed" by the local Marquis and finds himself constantly accosted by all sorts of supernatural manifestations.
In this mystical comedy, Felicien has traveled to Portugal from France soon after the end of the First World War. It seems that his recently deceased father had invested a lot of money in a factory located in a remote village, and he has come to evaluate that investment. He gets some clues to the real situation in the town when the man driving his coach refuses to go any further and leaves him on a section of road which is practically paved with abandoned crutches. After a short trek, he meets up with the local dignitary who is to show him around, and he meets a priest and an artist. The priest gives a further clue to the events taking place in the village when he indicates that he's completely exasperated with the endless miracles that seem to be taking place. From that point onward, amazing coincidences, visions and miracles take place in great numbers.
