　　《如歌的中板》是法國新浪潮電影的絕佳代表之作，雖然彼得‧布魯克並非法國人。本片讓人讚揚之處，是對女性渴望又害怕無趣的生活有所改變的複雜心理細膩而動人的描寫。彼得‧布魯克相當忠於Duras的原著精神，在片中刻意經營一種憂鬱、感傷的情緒，由珍妮摩露那神秘難解、哀傷的眼神傳達而出（她在本片的表演方式與在路易‧馬盧的《孽戀》（Les amants）中的演出相似，但更為深刻動人，一舉摘下坎城后冠）。加上緩慢從容的敘事與運鏡節奏，讓本片看來有如一首充滿優美旋律性，同時又縈繞著神祕陰影的奏鳴曲。本片的攝影更是讓人驚艷，少有電影能像本片將寬銀幕的特性運用的如此精采，幾乎每處場景都是超寬視野，不是充滿細節，就是讓人不安的空寂。

On holiday in Yalta, Muscovite banker Dimitri Gurov contrives to meet a young woman who walks her dog. She's Anna Sergeyovna, trapped in a loveless marriage to a lackey. Erik Løchen的长片处女作，由于出品于1959年而且手法偏向意识流也亮相于戛纳电影节，经常与法国新浪潮对比。本片中的旁白经常与电影角色以及观众交流，在当时颇为新颖。

Miroslav Hornicek is a deluded young man who is convinced he is Faust incarnate. This turn of mind leads to some ludicrous situations, such as when he believes a woman is really a cat. Before he can be rounded up and interned wherever they keep people with this type of a problem, love enters his life and the clouds that obscured his vision begin to dissipate.

In Si le vent te fait peur siblings Claude and Pierre have an ambiguous relationship, verging on the incestuous - against a background of the then bare, almost lunar, landscape of the Belgian North coast.
With a literary, stylistic approach and stiff dialogue, this psychological drama by director Emile Degelin addresses the normally taboo subject of incest in a round-about way. Claude and Pierre (Elisabeth Dulac and Guy Lesire) are brother and sister yet it is apparent early on that they are physically attracted to each other. In order to suborn their feelings they enter into relationships with others but nothing they do seems to work - they are always drawn back to their same fatal attraction.
