𝖍𝖔𝖔𝖕𝖙𝖔𝖇𝖊𝖗 𝖝 𝖓𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 𝖙𝖍𝖎𝖗𝖙𝖞: Kind of hilarious that the first official Frankenstein/Dracula crossover relegates the latter character (played to underwhelming effect by John Carradine) to a first-reel subplot, dispatching the vampire quite tidily before we ever set eyes on any of the other monsters, who might as well be in another movie. Karloff is pretty great in a non-Monster speaking role as this installment's mad scientist; His brief, mostly inconsequential interaction with Carradine's Dracula is the closest we get to a true Dracula/Frankenstein teamup in the original Universal films. I'll admit, Lon Chaney Jr. is barely the actor that his old man was, but he's kind of grown on me in these movies. Chaney's natural acting mode is "big dumb lug", but now that I've had time to watch him over the course of this series, I've started to feel like maybe that's the true essence of Wolf Man character too.
