2024 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 4: CANUCKSPLOITATION Feels like the 90-minute pilot episode of a '90s syndicated TV version of Blade Runner with every bit of cyberpunk wrung out in favor of queasy CSI procedural dullness. To his credit, Piper comes across well as a future-noir detective without a hint of either his wrestling persona or the ironic camp tough-guy persona seen in his sillier B-movies like HELL COMES TO FROGTOWN. Billy Drago is weirdly underutilized here, not having much to do other than skulk in the shadows and giving his trademark shark-eyed stare; It's a real comedown from his more charismatic villain turn in THE ADVENTURES OF BRISCO COUNTY JR. just a couple of years before.
