a review of 对垒特工

FLOPUARY #23: I'd already heard the whole plot of this one discussed in full on the Flop House Podcast a few short months ago, but even that didn't prepare me for how weirdly impressionistic the plot of this movie feels on a moment to moment, scene by scene basis. The connections between scenes feel almost nonexistent save for the absolute skeleton of a plot needed to make an action film of a certain type. Also fascinated to do some more research on what happened to Ray Park's career after about this point in the early 2000s. Guy was everywhere for a few years and then just stopped appearing in things? Not sure if he went back to stunt work, or if the phone just stopped ringing, or something more nefariously Hollywood was happening behind the scenes.
