HOOPTOBER 3.0 NIGHT THIRTEEN: Didn't realize that the director of this film was literally *that* Michael Powell until I searched his filmography midway through. I haven't seen enough of his films with Emeric Pressburger to really relate it to the rest of his filmography, but this along Hitchcock's PSYCHO (released the same year!) really feel like the artistic high-water mark for well-made psychological thrillers with proto-giallo/slasher juice. Also, Anna Massey is absolutely cute as a button and deserves mention alongside other "final girls" who would come along later in the horror genre.
