ℍ𝕆𝕆ℙ𝕋𝕆𝔹𝔼ℝ 𝔼𝕃𝔼𝕍𝔼ℕ ℕ𝕀𝔾ℍ𝕋 𝕊𝔼𝕍𝔼ℕ: I think I prefer the campier/more colorful titles in Corman's "Poe Cycle" (e.g. THE RAVEN, MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH) to the more dramatic, serious ones, but there's a lot to recommend this one as a solid Gothic melodrama, namely the gorgeous Hammer-style Technicolor cinematography and terrific performances by Elizabeth Shepherd (in a dual role) and Vincent Price.
