ℍ𝕆𝕆ℙ𝕋𝕆𝔹𝔼ℝ 𝔼𝕃𝔼𝕍𝔼ℕ ℕ𝕀𝔾ℍ𝕋 𝕋𝔼ℕ: I found this one to be a little slow-going for the first half, and the cognitive dissonance of seeing a thoroughly Italian-made zombie film set in the English countryside with Euro actors speaking in overdubbed "gorblimey guvnah" accents sometimes made it a little hard to suspend disbelief. But once it gets going, the atmosphere is pretty excellent and the choice of camera angles and (mostly ineffective) zombie-fighting tactics feels like a formative influence on the early RESIDENT EVIL games. The ending seems like a pretty clear lift from Romero's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, albeit with the racial discrimination dynamics removed in favor of implied commentary on the British class system.
