ℍ𝕆𝕆ℙ𝕋𝕆𝔹𝔼ℝ 𝔼𝕃𝔼𝕍𝔼ℕ ℕ𝕀𝔾ℍ𝕋 𝕋𝕎𝔼ℕ𝕋𝕐-𝔽𝕀𝕍𝔼: I don't know if it necessarily achieves all of its own goals in exploring the issues that it brings up about race-based socioeconomic inequality, the school-to-prison pipeline, police brutality, the inner-city drug epidemic, and the general concept of Black pain in all its forms, but I found this pretty compelling as a reimagining of the Frankenstein story that gives us a few cute winks to the source material and previous adaptations but mostly plays it as straight and realistic as it can.
