ℍ𝕆𝕆ℙ𝕋𝕆𝔹𝔼ℝ 𝔼𝕃𝔼𝕍𝔼ℕ ℕ𝕀𝔾ℍ𝕋 𝕋ℍ𝕀ℝ𝕋𝕐: A fair-to-middling satire of the '80s Moral Majority and Satanic panic era, with a fun and self-aware central performance by Cassandra Peterson, who plays Elvira as kind of a cross between a Russ Meyer B-movie bad-girl and fellow LA Groundling Paul Reubens' Pee-wee Herman. I wish that maybe it was about 25% less focused on Elvira getting sexually harassed and threatened by creeps and 25% more focused on the cool supernatural witch/magic plot. I'm watching this at the same time that AGATHA ALL ALONG is airing on streaming, and part of me wanted this movie to be similarly magic-heavy in its outlook, which maybe isn't true to Elvira's persona as a regular valley girl type who just dresses like a witch because it's fun.
