HOOPTOBER 4.0 NIGHT SIX: + PODCAST MACABRE 2025 CATEGORY 48: FROM 1955 A pretty fun sci-fi horror with a hard-boiled noir edge thanks in part to the against-type casting of American tough-guy actor Brian Donlevy as the title character. Includes what might be the first instance of "found-footage" horror, as well as some surprisingly goopy makeup and creature FX for a 1950s film. Feels like a definite precursor to all sorts of things like KOLCHAK: THE NIGHT STALKER or Carpenter's THE THING and PRINCE OF DARKNESS
