2022 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 23: 50s SCI-FI WEEK After watching this one, I think there's definitely a reason why Rodan as a character has always had third/fourth-banana status in the Toho Kaiju-verse. The movie doesn't have nearly the same thematic weight as the original GOJIRA/GODZILLA, and it must be said that the creature design and flying effects don't hold up nearly as well.
