a review of 极爆少年

#5: Turbo Kid -- Doing a little Netflix queue-clearing. This has been in my to-watch for over a year, and it's only a slim 95 min! This one was fun! I'd held off for a while because I was worried that it would be another nostalgia wankfest like Kung Fury, but it turned out really well. I didn't expect it to turn into a slapstick gore comedy at various points, and the practical effects were very well done. The story goes around in circles a few times in the first half, and might have benefitted from a slightly bigger tableau to tell its story. But it was a perfectly pleasant little B-film, with just the right balance of camp to grit.
