Feb 21/28 Another departing Mubi title that I checked out based purely on curiosity. This one feels like the missing link to the respective ouevres of both John Waters and Rob Zombie (down to the appearance of Sid Haig for the latter), and I was roundly entertained throughout. The movie will not win any awards for sensitive depictions of mental illness or developmental disorders, but it's executed with enough of an intentionally-campy flair that it's hard to take seriously on that count.
