a review of 酷毙了

Feb 25/28 This one was a lot of fun, and it presented its characters and setting appealingly enough that I'm willing to forgive some of the more questionable shaggy-dog plot detours, like the dropped thread about Mr. Jacoby's kids, who disappear from the movie the moment the Bitcoin drug-dealing plotline kicks in. I was surprised to see that director Rick Famuyiwa is a veteran writer/director, because the movie absolutely beats with the heart of a young up-and-comer and that's pretty exciting. I'll be curious to see what all involved do next.
