a review of 阿尔忒弥斯酒店

For a movie about various kinds of deadly and dangerous people stuck in a confined space, there’s a lack of urgency in the pacing that feels more of a piece with a six-hour streaming binge than a 90-minute feature. With its motley assortment of characters, unfired Chekhov’s guns, and assorted MacGuffins strewn about the screen, it all seems somewhat overbusy yet undercooked in terms to getting all of its disparate elements to move in the same direction. There’s a lot to like in this movie, I just wish it had a better sense of what it was trying to be.
