2019 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 30: PSYCHOTRONIC ENCYLOPEDIA WEEK I'll be honest, this one took a while to really get going for me, although Roeg's direction was impeccable throughout. Sutherland and Christie both do amazing work here, evoking both mania and crushing depression at the same time and feeling totally believable as a couple dealing with tragedy; but beyond the dramatic aspects, the horror elements really take their time to arrive. Now that I know how it ends, I think I'm going to need to go back and watch this one a second time to see how all of the details fit together. The revelation of the killer at the end felt a bit strange to me, as though there was some information that had been deliberately withheld in a way that was perhaps unfair to the viewer.
