2019 CULT MOVIE CHALLENGE WEEK 33: TSUI HARK WEEK I'll admit, it took me a little while for me to really warm up to this one, but once it gets cooking it's a really fun martial arts movie with incredible one-of-a-kind setpieces, especially the climactic ladder fight. One of these days I need to sit down and do some research about the real Wong Fei-Hung, because I feel like I've seen no fewer than a half dozen movies supposedly inspired by his life's story but have almost no idea where the legend stops and the history begins, and this movie didn't necessarily help to illuminate those questions. In any case, I found this movie greatly entertaining and definitely want to seek it out in a higher-resolution format than the near bootleg-quality DVD I borrowed from the public library.
