2020 Cult Movie Challenge Week 1: Biker Movie Week This movie starts with a full-on psychedelic circus clown freak out nightmare that fully encapsulates Marianne Faithfull's inner turmoil, and I have to give the filmmakers credit up front for that. The movie never quite lives up to those first few moments, staying mired in some fairly tame paperback romance tropes (it's hilarious that this movie was ever rated X) and half-hearted shout outs to the 60s counterculture, but the Jack Cardiff cinematography and Faithfull/Delon's effortless cool make this worth seeing.
